The usual Indian dual Strategy in Global Politics backfired this time around with Russia. Putin saw through Modi’s two faced policy and the skimming act of playing both sides, all to disguise under neutrality. Imagine India who decided to support Israel and the US instead of it’s BRICS partners, A country that was buying cheap, discounted oil from Russia and all of a sudden Trump stepped in and ordered them to stop buying Russian oil and buy from others like Venezuela instead and like a puppy, Modi kneeled and agreed and then began reducing its purchases of Russian oil.

And now that the war has cause global oil crisis, America temporarily gave India permission to buy Russian oil again for 30 days, and as shameless as Modi can be, he went straight back to Russia, forgetting that Putin is also a master of vengeance and a classic chess master. Putin has welcomed him back, but now decides to sell to them at a higher price, no more privilege of a discount.

It's all about business for most countries and whichever country they can benefit from, they'd go there. All of these alliances have some limits as well and each of them understands if they're in need of these resources to import for their citizens. It's also hard when a country is being pressured by the countries like US, China and Russia. They have to play it neutral but I don't know the entire thing with India's politics. Their geographical location is also vital to its neighboring countries so, I think these countries also want to be friends with them. Like the US, it's a strategic area for them if they wanna go against China/Russia.

You do not need to blame Modi, he is doing it for the interest of his people. He knows that Trump can go hard on someone and he wants to reduce the probability of Trump increasing tariff so that his country will not be affected significantly because Trump does not care. But it would have been better for most countries to be like China and Russia that does not controlled by the United States because the world is too big for a single person to control.

All I can say is that this whole situation shows how the international politics looks  like a big market negotiation, why did I say that you see every country is trying the possible best they can to protect their own economy first before thinking of friendship. From modi's side his trying to balance between the west and partners like putin,so that India can get energy supply and a very good trade relations but when things turn around or if situation gets to change then the balance will shake a bit.

But even though at same time Russia is not a charity case or organisation, if they notice that the demand is high and market is limited they will sell the oil in a way that will favour them even though is to a country that has partner with them before. So you see geo politics or global politics is like a decision that will be made for a good interest or let me say is interest that leads to decision and some friendship is like a strategy which is more than loyalty

I don't know the full geopolitical landscape of India in your country, and judging from your argument alone, I think President Modi is honestly confused when Trump intervenes like that. Rejecting Trump carries a risk. Many countries have been forced to intervene by Trump, so Modi readily agrees to everything Trump says. There's deep concern in his decision. Putin isn't as straightforward as Trump, stating his stance directly. Modi's actions may be to protect India from pressure from Trump.
But this actually makes Modi lack a firm stance on his geopolitical policies, acting like a blind dog, as you suggest.

Oil prices and/or other cooperation with Russia will be strained, and they will pay a heavy price.

India does anything for its own interests. The Modi government is a big fan of Trump, they directly support Israel and the United States. So it is natural that they will not think beyond Trump's words. There are various reactions in his country about this. Despite having the ability to be a commercial country like China and Russia, India is still very much behind due to its servile nature.

They cannot talk to any other country except its small neighboring countries with their eyes wide open, as China and Russia do. Instead of learning from its mistakes, the Modi government wants to participate in world politics through servility, where they should have had the ability to compete in world politics.

Every country needs to learn from the past. The US has held deals with most countries, relinquishing its promise when it is needed the most. I can't imagine the position India has found itself in now, but I pray they get over this time of trial.

Putin will surely agree to deal with him, but with a tag price. And this time, India has no choice but to agree. Last week, there was a rumour circulating on social media that India conspired with Israel regarding the Iranian ships that were attacked.

The rumors about India conspiring with Israel have actually gained a lot of attention and backlash on social media. It became even more controversial after Modi once described India as the motherland and Israel as the fatherland, which made many people talk about the close relationship between the two countries. There was even a viral clip circulating online where a high ranking Indian military officer was supposedly confessing to sharing the location of Iranian ships. But later it was reported to be a deepfake and fact checkers clarified that the video was manipulated. But still, the situation shows how quickly rumors can spread during geopolitical tensions, especially when countries already have complicated relationships and alliances.

You check the news about the deepfake viral video here.

You're probably not too familiar with politics otherwise you wouldn't have the TWO EDGE SWORD caption in this scenario.
Or do I've to remind you that politics is a social activity full of ass lickers?
Of course as a smart politician you only prey on profitable partnerships  in the race overl other parties who're not up to the capacity to withstand higher power like a global tension especially when it's effective on a global standard where it has to disrupt your economy growth such as the geopolitical alliance of the India and the Russia. So of if USA would be the era of milk and honey why don't India migrate?
However, there's absolutely no integrity in the game, just be smart and don't be a victim.

China and India are not much different from one another. China might have more economic might compared to India but both of them keeps their economy as the prime interest than any alliance, coalition or conflict. They'll look for opportunity and better deals on everything.
India utilized the Ukraine conflict to increase its oil refining industry buying Russian Crude and selling the refined oil back to Europe. As the US sanctions made it less profitable to buy Russian oil, they started buying from US. It's not taking sides but looking for better profit.

I am not a supporter of Modi but I can't deny the fact that in his rule India became more powerful when it comes to geopolitics, what India says about anything matters to most now and it became possible with growth of the economy and for that the country needs to utilize every possible opportunity.

If leaders think India is not taking any sides then why they still care about their decision?

India have somehow tangled themselves in the war. Most countries are trying to flee far from what is happening while India, according to your statement has found themselves in between the lines. Putting will surely use this as an advantage over them. China and Russia have indirectly joined in the war. I heard that China sells drones to Iran while Russia sells interceptors and fighter jets to the Iran as well. Trump was on call with Putin as of yesterday, really do not know the complete conversation, according to Trump he said he told Putin to be more helpful in ending the war.

I would not blame Shri Narendra Modi for his two-sided politics. He is trying to benefit from both sides. He was buying cheap oil from Russia and also exporting heavily to the US. Without trading with the US, the Indian economy will face a heavy blow. When Donald Trump hit India with high tariffs, Modi would have to agree that the economy would suffer. India decided to dump Russia because the US is more important to India than Russia. Any country that is a close ally of Russia will suffer. Examples are Belarus, Cuba, Venezuela, Colombia and others that are under Western sanctions.

If I were Putin, I would do thesame thing. India has to buy the oil based on or more than the current oil price. They are no longer an ally of Russia but a business partner.

I came across this same video on X a few days ago. Yes, it was said to be a deepfake video, now we really dont know what's true or what's false. The level of fake videos on social media regarding this war is annoying. X has banned any explosion video or war-related video if it is not coming from a well-known official pages like that of Donald Trump.

India should be very careful how they interfer in this war. I do not want to say this, but Trump is not to be trusted when coming to agreements. All the Gulf countries that has aid from Trump in attacking Iran, they have been the ones affected by the war. While the US is safe and peaceful.

It's a win win situation for the indian leader, he has one of the largest population in the world, he doesn't want to play politics with the life's of his people, you might see it as an act of cowardice but they say that he who fights and run away lives to fight another day. Despite how bad you might want to him, he still has the opportunity to buy oil from Russia, even if it's on a higher price, let's just say that's the price he would have to pay, but at the end of the day, he has a population to Carter for.
