What is FJARCODE?

FJARCODE (FJAR) is a fun and experimental cryptocurrency project built in Iceland.
This is not a rushed exchange coin and there is no artificial hype campaign behind it. The main goal is to build something interesting, run real infrastructure, experiment with the network, and grow a small community around mining, nodes, and development.

Before public release, a small portion was premined together with friends on Bitaxe Gamma miners during the early testing and setup phase.

Project focus

  • Fun and experimental development
  • Real mainnet infrastructure
  • Explorer, API, and core tooling
  • Mining, node operation, and testing
  • Organic community growth

Current status

  • Mainnet is live
  • Explorer is live
  • Core releases available
  • Specifications published

FJARCODE Update!

Things have been moving along nicely with FJARCODE. Mining has been stable, the chain is running smoothly, and the project keeps slowly growing with more small tools and features being added around the ecosystem.

Mempool Backup Explorer
A backup mempool-style explorer is now available:
https://mempool.fjarcode.com/

Open Source Web Wallet
The FJARCODE web wallet is open source and uses ElectrumX servers.
https://wallet.fjarcode.com/
https://github.com/fjarcode/fjarcode-web-wallet

Mining Pools
Mining has been steady, and miners can currently use:
https://pythonpool.dev/dash/?coin=fjar
https://crypto-eire.com/dash.php?coin=fjar

NestEx Exchange
FJAR is also listed on NestEx:
https://trade.nestex.one/spot/FJAR

Simple Status Page
Basic network and service status page:
https://status.fjarcode.com/

Discord
Join the FJARCODE community here:
https://discord.gg/dCXBPe9wKs

Thanks to everyone who is mining, running nodes, testing wallets, and supporting FJARCODE.
Slow and steady. More updates will come as things develop.

Hi,
We've added Fjarcode (FJAR) to http://zpool.ca/algo/sha3-256t. See below for connection details.

Fee only: 1% or less
BTC payouts are processed once a day for balances above 0.00075
Payouts for all other currencies are made automatically every 4 hours for balances above 0.05 and balances more than 0.0125 are included in one of the payouts each day.

- Sample configurations -
To mine sha3-256t and get paid in FJAR:
Code:
-a sha3-256t -o stratum+tcp://sha3-256t.mine.zpool.ca:3339 -u FJAR_ADDRESS -p c=FJAR

Exchange to BTC:
Code:
-a sha3-256t -o stratum+tcp://sha3-256t.mine.zpool.ca:3339 -u BTC_ADDRESS -p c=BTC

All of our ports are NiceHash friendly, no need to specify any extra details

SSL/TLS is available for all ports. Simply prepend the port with a 5. Example for sha3-256t: 53339

Thanks for adding FJARCODE to ZPool.

FJARCODE has now passed the scheduled hard fork at block 21,000.

The hard fork was announced in advance on the official FJARCODE website and in the Discord community, so miners, users, pools, and node operators had time to update.

The network has successfully moved from SHA-256d to SHA3-256T mining, and the block target has changed from 10 minutes to 1 minute.

SHA-256d ASIC miners are no longer compatible with FJARCODE after the fork. Mining is now done with SHA3-256T, making it possible again for regular users to mine using standard GPU and CPU hardware.

The current mandatory core release is v27.4.0:
https://github.com/fjarcode/fjarcode-core/releases

SHA3-256T miner:
https://github.com/codefalcon-dev/sha3-256t-miner

Available FJARCODE mining pools:

PythonPool:
https://pythonpool.dev/dash/?coin=fjar

Crypto-Éire:
https://crypto-eire.com/dash/?coin=fjar

ZPool:
http://zpool.ca/algo/sha3-256t

Thanks again to ZPool for supporting FJARCODE. This gives miners another option to join the network after the upgrade and is a positive step for the project.

Cool! I guess BC3 was the inspiration for the PoW algorithm?
