Nobody can really be that careful enough to keep everything secret and secured from others most especially those that are so close to us, I have a personal experience where my wife always tell me the most secret info I keep on my phone and she always warn me of my vulnerability each time I argue with here on that subject matter.

I mean i get your point on it, that is actually why we are not encouraging anyone to publicly announce or at least post that they have cryptocurrency or Bitcoin, because we just dont know to what extent other people are going to do just to steal it from us. I do agree to what you wrote to some extent, but if you read the article, you would discover that the man displayed some level of ignorance. The incident also highlights the importance of knowledge, which obviously is lacking here. It really surprises me that someone had about 2,323 BTC and did not think of using a passphrase in creating the seed phrase. If he had added a passphrase and kept them in separate locations, it would have been impossible for the wife to steal the funds.

This is why you will never catch me use my phone torchlight when I'm writing out my seedphrase/password or any personal stuff. I rather wait for brightness or the following day to write it out. I'm paranoia like that.
