I guess you created an announcement in the wrong board. Try moving the thread to
Service Announcements (Altcoins)One of the most important aspects of a wallet is if it's open source for independent auditing. So I would like to ask if your source code is open or closed?
Also, why would someone need to enter their email when they are going to create a wallet? I thought noncustodial wallets just let you have total control of your wallet creations without involving any forms of log-ins, such as email or social media.
Thank you, @JeromeTash. I originally created this thread hoping for a discussion rather than just an announcement, but I realize now this sub-forum is meant strictly for altcoin discussions. I'll get the thread moved.
To answer your question about the email: we currently need it to index and keep track of wallets and transactions, rather than relying solely on RPC. We are still figuring out the best UX to explain the nature of these accounts to users and how to handle backups.
As I mentioned earlier, we can't build this alone. We need end-users to let us know when they feel safe and help us build the mechanics correctly.
As for the source code, we would be happy to open-source the web and Telegram app interfaces once we release a stable, non-beta version. We are holding off for now simply because releasing the interfaces at this stage makes it too easy for scammers to create phishing clones.
