I just saw this on my feed, the fight has been canceled because of Nery's torn ACL, but there's no reliable news on this, it's likely that this is an April Fools Day treat I checked online to verify this but there is none so its likely a fake news but lets see if there is truth on this news, tomorrow, there is no reliable news now because its April 1 fool's day.

users been discussing who they are going to root already which there are more on Nery's side. if this is fake, i guess now Casimero can gauge how defeated he look like in his previous fight.  assuming this is bout is real to happen, and he loses again, there will be no Naoya Inoue vs Casimero happening ever.  his career didn't go well since the time he tried to start a brawl with Naoya.

This fight between Casimero and Nery is postponed, i just saw on my social media feed not due to the injury of Luis Nery but because of the war in the Middle East. The promoters of this fight will not compromise the boxers safety as the war is uncertain for now on when it will end. No definite day on when this fight will resume. I think the postponement will have an advantage on Casimero's side as he could now more time to prepare.

It's an april fool click bait i guess. didn't you remember when there was a rumor said that the match might be canceled due to the disinterested from Nery. The fact that it never came true. The match will take place at 18 april. So i think any rumor or news says that it gets canceled is just BS.

Unfortunately, the news is true, the fight is indeed cancelled because of international instability, bad luck for Casimero, this could be his ticket for another title shot. Casimero is not getting any younger, he is running out of time, it will take some time before they resume the fight. It's better for the promoter to move the fight to other locations if this is possible.
This is another long wait for Casimero, who has waited long for another title shot.

It is true that the word of the fight between Casimero being postponed is a great disappointment. I have been anticipating this fight of the month and all of a sudden this news comes and kills the hopes immediately. Hopefully, it will not be canceled, because, in the past, similar happenings have crippled his career. Nery is a tough guy and winning against him convincingly would show that the level of Casimero remains high. It would be a degradation to see him pass off without having a chance to show his worth.

This could have been a golden opportunity for both fighters for another title shot; both fighters are multi-division title holders and still in the peak of their careers.
I feel sorry for Casimero; he is on a winning streak after the Kameda loss, but now he will have to wait for more months to fight like this.
Hopefully, if this fight resumes, it should be in a safe place. Japan could have been an ideal place to fight.

My bad, I forgot to update this thread, thinking that someone had already created a thread for this match. Anyway, I've unlocked this thread, and to give you an update, it was an easy fight for Casimero;  he scored 3 knockdowns in the first round and in rounds 2 and 3 before finishing him in round 4.

It was the best fight of Casimero in many years. I guess it has something to do with Nery's cutting weight; he was slow, and so many of his punches were off mark.
Casimero now has something to boast about and challenge Inoue, so will Inoue continue to ignore him after this fight?

Me, I expected that Casimero would win. Yes, he has some ups and downs, but remember, he was a champion before and you can really see in that fight the power of Casimero.

Now it confirms my doubt that Inoue is really dodging Casimero because he knows that Casimero could possibly beat him. And now that Casimero won, it has lifted up his ranking, so maybe that would compel Inoue to fight him. Once and for all, this should be settled so people will stop speculating that Inoue is just afraid of Casimero.

Yes, most likely this is the case,

a. he didn't make the weight
b. blame the issue on his luggage lost
c. fine by the Japan commission
d. re-hydration clause

This is not the same Nery that we have seen against Inoue. It's a very different version that has a lot of mental problems. Not saying that Casimero didn't deserved this win. But at least if Nery didn't have this issues, it could be a very competitive fight.

I expected Casimero to win as I have said in the other thread, I was even looking for a knockout win for Quadro Alas. And so he did really prepare for this fight and even below the weight while Nery was over weight. Sure there could be reasons why he was over the scale and didn't make it.

But a win is a win, Nery has no chance against Casimero as the latter is really hungry and for sure Kameda is very happy of the performance. And hopefully, they can go and negotiate for a Inoue fight. That is, if the Monster wanted a piece of Casimero.

Inoue has plenty of options like a Nakatani rematch, Bam Rodriguez or one of the featherweight champions if he finally moves up. It’s not such an easy path for Casimero right now without a world title or the backing of a major promoter.

I want to see the Bam Rodriguez fight, if seems that Bam can really move up in weight and so that will be a great fight between two hard punchers. But being a Filipino, definitely, I would also somewhat see our very own Casimero vs Inoue.

And in this fight, it looks like Casimero has find his timing already and he still has that power to score a knock down or knock out win. As for Nery, I read that this is his last fight with the Japanese promoter. So not sure if he still has a future as he needs another manager/promoter.
