It's not really shocking me at all. As far as i know some countries have been changing their perspective for gambling. Some of them are starting to allow gamble in the countries. This potentially gives the new player to come in. So there's a potential for that valuation to grow even higher.

Beside that i do think that chart is logical. The US growth from less than 1b volume sport betting volume to the 10b volume just in 5 years. So i think that information is relevant.

Not from this forum but I see at least 1 new betting site every day and that makes me wonder that if there is no money in gambling industry, I don't think we will see new casino and betting platform get launch on us everyday. There is money in sport betting, you can imagine people that will buy a ticket for the whole seasonal games in a stadium, I ding think such people will go a week without trying out one or two games and put what they can afford to lose.

You can see that the rate at which sport betting is increasing is getting bigger and bigger. The old bookmakers don't want to lose customers and the new ones are trying to dominate the place which is why we see adverts everywhere like life depend on it. Almost every street in my location has more than one sports betting shop. New sports betting platforms keep springing up every time. This shows that sports betting is becoming more popular among people especailly the youths. If you consider the amount these sports betting platforms spend in advertisment, it would be clear that the sports betting industry is a money spinner. Casino games are definitely superior in terms of the value accumulated from all existing casinos, especially when we are fighting a dominant bookie we are defeated by him, it is clear that the winnings of the bookie should be greater than what we get as gamblers, from the number of players who prefer casino games and also active players continue to grow because betting on games is much easier than betting football which must do research before betting.

I don't see any scenario where it would become irrelevant. Betting has always been in need and it has existed basically forever in human culture in different forms. And since people are not going to change, only way it would go down is if more governments would rein in and put more restrictions. Even that wouldn't make it irrelevant, just more regulated.

And frankly, it's a huge cash cow for governments if they are able to milk it without killing it, so it would need extraordinary (probably religious) lobbying to stop it.

Over the last two years (or three, actually), sports have been flooded with ads from bet companies, teams are being sponsored, and even the leagues now bear the names of  bet companies, at least here in Brazil, now the Copa do Brasil is called "Copa Betano do Brasil"
