OCTCOIN (OCT)
Decentralized. Fair. CPU-Native.
What is Octcoin?
Octcoin is a decentralized peer-to-peer digital currency based on Bitcoin Core 30.0, featuring SHA-512 proof-of-work with a memory-hard scratchpad layer designed for CPU accessibility and GPU resistance. No premine, no ICO, no developer allocation — every OCT in existence was mined through proof-of-work.

Why SHA-512 + Scratchpad?
SHA-512 uses 64-bit word operations natively optimized for modern CPUs. Implementing SHA-512 in an ASIC requires emulating 64-bit operations, approximately doubling gate count compared to SHA-256 ASICs. Additionally, Octcoin adds a memory-hard scratchpad layer that saturates GPU VRAM, making GPU mining inefficient. The result: CPU miners remain competitive against both ASICs and GPUs.
