[But I really can't figure out what went wrong here.

Nothing went wrong here - you just clearly havent spent enough time in the crypto space to know that "trust me, I have money" is the oldest opening line in the scammers handbook.  Dont get me wrong, Im not accusing you of being a scammer, but you cant blame people who are generally skeptical.  Thats a good thing in this space.

You have to be patient with the community.  There are a lot of smart and experienced people here who can give good advice, but each of us has different experiences and behaves differently in certain situations.

First thing you should do is sign a message from a wallet holding at least 2btc so we know you are serious.

OP would need at least 10BTC in reserves in order to be able to provide decent volume. Not necessarily in Bitcoin, obviously some of it will be in altcoins, but 2BTC for a no-kyc exchange would only be good for a few thousand-dollar swaps here and there

We get these threads on a regular basis

you just clearly havent spent enough time in the crypto space to know that "trust me, I have money" is the oldest opening line in the scammers handbook.

I think I see what you are both talking about.  I noticed a thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5579437.0) in the services section of the forum from a brand new account, and it looks very suspicious.

@Vod, I'm sorry to have come off like "that guy."

OP would need at least 10BTC in reserves in order to be able to provide decent volume. Not necessarily in Bitcoin, obviously some of it will be in altcoins, but 2BTC for a no-kyc exchange would only be good for a few thousand-dollar swaps here and there

That's way more than I have and it's obvious I don't have the skills to protect the investment I would be willing to make.  Not at this time anyway.  Another member mentioned that by the time I learn the needed skills it may be too late to be competitive.  Member dkbit98 listed some peer to peer exchanges which seem more like the way bitcoin was intended to be traded, and align with my philosophy more than a centralized exchange anyway.

Maybe what I really came here for was for you guys to talk me out of it.  I have a lot to learn, and looking forward to spending more time here reading and learning.  Thank you all for the replies and education.
