Tangem can be connected with NFC or with card readers, and they are also working with airgapped Seedsigner device that has integrated card reader.
The beauty is that anyone can create their own DIY, even load open source code on blank compatible cards.

You probably meant Satochip rather than Tangem, because Tangem doesn’t require card readers to connect, it relies solely on NFC.

My knowledge of Satochip was probably outdated. ^{It seems their first card didn’t include NFC, and I’m glad to learn that newer versions do support it.} This means users can now choose between Tangem and Satochip based on their personal preferences.

The features where Tangem is still ahead are its unique backup scheme and the ability to operate in seedless mode.

That is not going ahead, that is going backwards, especially with alleged seedless mode.
In fact Satochip has great option for making backup with Seedkeeper cards, and they should soon be compatible with Keycard Shell devices.
