Thank you for this information op, this will help us as newbies to be more careful when we are involved in any exchange, although before this time i have been told how scammers keep flooding different exchange in search or whom to scam, but my question is there nothing exchanges can do to remove those shady minds from their platform? Scammers might be spoiling things for them which is not good at all, however, the best we can do for ourselves is to continue to expose things like that so as to serve as a note for those that do p2p to be aware of people to avoid if they come in contact with them when trying to trade.

Recently, I get P2P deal with dis merchant – Maxweller_exhange on Bitget. Im meet all my requirements with d No 3rd Party thing and numba of trades done, etc. Na so I relax to do business with am but I nor check negative reviews on am as na small money dey involved. Na wen I begin sense sey gbege dey I go check review com see sey na dat merchant pattern be dat from complaints wey people make there. Im nor dey pay complete. Im dey subtract money without warning on dem terms and conditions. For my own case, im short me N200. Maybe na wetin im too remove from others (more or less). Even wen u chat am up to remind am sey d money nor complete, e go ignore u. Na to show u sey na intentional something.

So, I sey make I bring d matta here to warn una. If u be d type wey nor go like delay through appeal bc d amount involved dey small, just avoid dat thief. Also, spread dis information to others.

Una still fit drop other merchants names wey dey do like dat too so dat awa people go avoid dem from far.

I been don even jam one wey out of 1.2m she say she go comot two thousand naira for charge and once I tell her make god punish her and since her time na 1hour which typically no Dey pay attention so as long as green Dey show for your profile say you Dey online, I no Dey get time Dey check plenty things all these thieves in marchant form no fit put their criminal terms openly and to cut the long story short I just ignore her and wait for time out and she get luck say she no mark paid else na once I for raise appeal straight up

E no make sense from am since him no ask weda to comot 200 Naira for charge or not, na that behavior spoil everything everything so, if to say, him dey upload fake screenshots as transaction, e for be different case, but him dey deliver payments.

I blame you for not reading the review as it would have guided you to ignore him. It's unfortunate that they are moving to other exchanges, to spoil them, and if those exchanges are not careful, they might spoil it the way they spoiled Bybit.

TBH, your story didn't end the way I expected. You shouldn't have released the coin even if it's N50 remaining. Of course, unless it is in the term and conditions. Even at that, I still don't release it until my money is paid in full. And guess what, I always win.

There are many scammers on exchange and we are to be more careful and also take every trading we are making serious, so that this cannot will not take advantage of us and still our assets from us, don't engage the chat with them outside the exchange and don't trade with anyone without checking their ratings, they exist in every exchange and we have only to know how we can identify scammers like that and avoid having anything to do with them.

It's expected that anytime, we are trading on an exchange we should pay attention and become more serious and vigilant. This is because there are allot of scammers pretending to be marcant and is looking for ways to scam people of their money. Scammers are always looking for ways to be ahead they can trick, ignorant people to talk to them outside of the exchange in a bid to scam them. As I see bitget na watin just draw my attention to the thread because omo there are so many crazy vendors wen I don jam for that app although Dem still better pass bybit wen get all those crazy people for their app as vendors. As for the bitget matter so many vendor for that app go dey claim rates as many of them even get mind dey out for their ads say Dem dey charge even up to 1k and so of them if you no observe well go just cut your money.

I no no whether e really dey necessary to call out a merchant but dem many wey dey do this thing no be only for BITGET sef, dem dey do am for BYBIT too. E get one wey i do transaction with him own na 1k, after him deduct the 1k for my money i just chat am up make him complete am and i still call am criminal untop na him just respect himself complete the money. I no really know the problem of some merchants, if the business no dey favor dem again make dem quit na instead of trying to enforce some kind charges wey the exchange no even dey aware of. I no dey use bitget dey do my p2p but for Bybit wey I dey do p2p, na once e be like say I don encounter merchants wey no pay me my money all and as I ask am why him no pay all, him just tell me say make I no vex, say na oversight and him no really see am well. Na so him just pay me my money come release the coin give am.

E dey very important to dey check merchants rating before one take trades with them, some of them dey very wicked and no dey remorseful if them dey wan scam their victims off those little money them dey deduct. E don tey wey I face this kind wahala sha, but make we sef dey extra careful anytime wey we wan trade for p2p on any exchange.

200 naira is small, but after you send him message on the exchange, you supposed not to release the money for him until he paid the money.

I have left small amount of money like that few weeks ago but someone did similar thing recently and not pay me 500 naira. I did not release the coin until he paid the money.

Even if na 50 naira I go collect am before releasing the coin as far as we no reach any agreement before he deduct am or it's not clearly stated on their personal terms and conditions.

The amount is small, in fact too small to drag each other on top but the way some vendors behave is very disrespectful in case like this as if the seller has no right to claim what belong to them legitimately.

The more we choose to ignore this criminal act because we assume the amount is small, the longer it continue and the amount keeps increasing. Just like your case, from small amount to later 500. If you had ignored the 500, next time it might be 700 and before you know e go cross 1k some day.

The terms on P2P is clear. No negotiation after the order is placed. The amount displayed is how the order must be concluded. It's high time we start frowning against this largely growing attitude of merchants paying short of the order amount.

We are over tolerating this and it will keep increasing unless we start holding them for neck to send the remaining balance as little as 5 naira.

I no too dey conversant with bitget settings, but that gbese dey regular for Bybit. These merchants dem dey do anyhow these days so tey if person no  dey careful, dem fit troway money give dem for nothing. I don encounter a vendor wey bin wan run me streetz for bybit. D guy just delay the payment till like like 4 minuites to go him pay and him no pay complete after payment na so him just to troubloe me with messages to release coin quick quick say hi, don pay I just notice am say make i calm down check make e no be say dis guy wan play smart on me and wetin i think na so e be amd immediately I call am to order make him complete the pay or i no go release am nobody tell am to complete the pay before  I release the coin to am.

Wetin dey there be say make we dey alert and calm when we dey do transaction so that we no go make mistake because most of the mistakes wey dey happen na as a result of we being in a haste to cash out because we dey in a hurry and na that one dem dey take get sellers wey no dey stable during transactions.
