One thing I know is that any thing possible for the system to be manipulated because as I may understand correctly the gambling site are mostly built or configured in a way it would only be favoring the casino itself than any other person gambling at that moment.

Of course you are right, what most casinos does is to message their users about any upgrades or updates on their site so that they wouldn't experience any difficulties that is why when gambling it's always advisable to use a reputable gambling platform so that they wouldn't in any way manipulates their system for personal profits or gain. Before using any site they should at least check their reputation or their past histories to know if they have any deficiencies or bad reviews about them.

It is possible casinos can manipulate their systems, they are actually incharge of the back end so they determine what happens there at all times, and this is why it is necessary these casinos are regulated because if they are very manipulative with their systems, it is at that point that authorities can come in to protect the interest of gamblers to be sure it's not a fraudulent scheme aimed at ripping gamblers of their money and never winning.  But if it is with sports games, I doubt they will be able to carry out any form of manipulation because they have little to no control over the sports games and their results.

I think it was actually the devs has the control over it. This is why there are called as inside jobs that can happen sometimes and owners are telling the truth that it was nothing to do them.

There might still be some that has negotiations with the devs to do it but as a licensed or regulated casino, the case can be rare because they also know the consequences for it and they comply on it on the first place because their intentions are clean.
