I consider Bitcoin halving as one of the most important features of the Bitcoin concept, which was designed by Satoshi Nakamoto. It was coded into Bitcoin’s software to control the level of supply of new Bitcoin to enable BTC scarcity due to how it somehow makes BTC a deflationary asset over time, similar to gold.
That's a good way to look at it. Halving is really what controls how fast new bitcoin enters the market. By cutting the rewards over time, it slows down supply, which is why people compare it to gold. It also has another effect, miners earn less over time, so only the more efficient ones stay. That helps keep the network strong. So it's not just about scarcity, it's also about keeping the system balance in the long run.
