Additional methods I'm thinking of:
If you have an inbox regarding sign up notification, you can take the date then look for the user id who registered on that date by changing the uid url value manually or via bpip, say u=3000001 to u=3000020
It's also possible to know the username by checking the email if you have changed your password or forgot the password before. I am sure there will be email if op didn't delete the email. If op did use the forgot password before using the email then checking the username will also work as I have explained.

...
OP said, it's an account he created but he apparently has no records of his account's name. Strange, but who am I to judge.

Quote from: me: obsolete statements, sorry!
What you recommend makes no sense to me, because it's not clear if OP has setup a security question+answer and even if he had and used this security question "recover" option his account would be locked immediately. Or am I missing something? Added later: yes, I did miss that security question is optional by the wording.

This is known for a long time and I'm not sure why this method is still recommended. AFAIR such a locked account can only the unlocked by the forum's recovery team (admins can too, but they don't do it and have delegated this task to the recovery team). And the recovery team needs solid proof that you're the actual owner of such an account (staked Bitcoin address or GPG key, rarely other evidence is accepted from what I've read here (not going into details here, but I remember website ownership seems lastly have been accepted in another case)).

Post edit (wrong conclusion put into a quote):
Took me a bit to realize that you don't need to enter anything on the login page and you can immediately click on Forgot your password? where you can enter your registration email address and don't need to tick the box for "Ask me my question.".

That way it should indeed be possible to get the account name because IIRC it will be stated in the password reset email you receive.

I think it's pretty clear what OP wants. He created an account with his email, but forgot the username. He wants to "recover" the username with his email.

The actual answer to his question is: That's not possible, unless he made the email public on his profile and somehow someone finds it (i.e google indexed it).

Exactly what came across my mind because the questions is very clear.
I think the best thing for the op is to do forgotten password since he has the email, maybe it can help recover the account.
