Anyway, I have crypto wallets like Unstoppable in that device and also the binance apps etc. Is it safe to keep the wallet on that device, or is it time to buy a new mobile phone that can receive recent security updates?
tho the risk of losing your crypto will be lower, a new phone isn't going to protect you if a vulnerability gets exploited en masse before it get patched or you download a fake wallet, or a malicious update gets pushed by a comprimised google play dev account.
personally, i would keep the old phone if it's still usable for normal everyday use (battery still good, doesn't lag, etc...) and get an entry level hardware wallet instead, and move my stash there. trezor safe 3 is a good one, and it's like $50. (be sure to DYOR)
better yet, i would get a new phone and a hardware wallet, it's better to be safe than sorry.
Ledger is the shittiest HW out there use trezor instead.
i agree, ledger is a coldcard waiting to happen.
