We are still on "The Official Mastercoin Foundation, Master Protocol & Mastercoin Thread"
If you don't have a platform to discuss on, you could at least "rebrand" this thread as well and maybe make a more decent main post..
And you still have the mastercoin logo as your avatar. And i'm not going to replace it.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

I was surpirsed when I found out "Master" actually stands for "Metadata Archival by Standard Transaction Embedding Records".. whatever "standard records" means in this context.

Looks like Counterparty eating piece by piece MSC. But how MSC devs can be so out that they tell still Factom is coming for MSC? Any comments from devs what there happen just now?

We are also looking at Omni, to have supporters be able to participate on as many platforms as possible. We want to make our crowdsale easy and accessible to everyone.
This is an announcement about our intention to have a crowdsale, details on how to participate and when are not defined yet. Official announcements will be made when we are ready.
From the thread

Koinify is a crowdsale platform, and their technology is not limited to only one thing. Details to come. Craig

Craig What would be Factoms' impact on the master/omni ? The first impact will be an enhancement to the Omni Layer specification. Factom needs to encode data on the Bitcoin blockchain, and to do so requires several layers of verification. We are working together to establish this protocol method, using Omni. The biggest impact will be when we are able leverage Factom for the Decentralized Exchange, which will allow for faster trading. The teams are working very closely together (including shared development) so that the projects can both leverage the strengths of the other. Craig

I Have about 270 MSC, and I don't understand how the new OMNI brand could affect MSC price.
There is no visibility in what will be the role of MSC in the new OMNI Layer.
Any Idea?

You are right. I don't see the omnicoin raising in price. The coins were minted in exchange for bitcoin, the bitcoin were supposed to be used to develop the omniprotocol, which would make the omnicoins valuable. Now many of the parts of the protocol is developed and the omnicoins is still worth exactly what they were the day they were created, if counting in bitcoins not in dollars. In my opinion this name change is for every part, except the coins. Omniwallet, omniprotocol, omnifondation and the currency mastercoin. We are bagholders. Not much to do about that...

Mastercoins will become Omnis. This is a more difficult transition (since many places use the token name). However, Omnis are critical components in the ecosystem. Besides being a peer asset to all other assets issued on the Omni Layer, Omnis are special, in that new features use Omnis first, because it makes new features easier to release. For example, a Send-To-Owners transaction needs a spam filter, so for each recipient it costs a willet, which gets burned (the Omni equivalent of a satoshi, the team’s way of giving JR credit for the invention). This very very slowly reduces the supply of Omnis. Future versions should allow the asset owner to decide which token is used as a spam filter. On the DEx 2.0, all tokens will trade against Omnis (just like in DEx 1.0, Bitcoins trade against MSC/Omnis). Later versions will allow trade between all asset pairs (and someone might even get clever and figure out a way to make token-token trades with Omnis in the middle, transparently using the current 2.0 version when it is released… are you feeling clever?) So keep your heads up, folks. Craig

Keep up the great work Craig. Good to see Omni going forward with energy. Speculators with loose keyboards tend to ruin everything with stupid talk. However, it appears good hard working engineers continue to build a nice protocol. Bitcoin 2.0 will have a giant following by the end of 2015. It already is getting tons of serious attention. Great to see it.

It might be too late ejinte - You've got to buy at the bottom of the market and sell at the peak. Looks like Omni has 'turned the corner' and the price has doubled since Jan 14th.
