If their choice is investing, I’d say it’s not complicated. But if their choice is trading, that’s where the complexity comes in—it requires more than what’s needed for investing.
Of course investing complicated, but not just as complicated as trading. Even investment has its own complexities, and this is why it’s important for every investor to do their due diligence so as to avoid making mistakes that’ll cost them or result to regrets later. Investment has its own rules and modus operandi and if these rules are not observed, losses becomes inevitable.
Risk is present in both trading and investing, but if we compare the amount of risk to each other, then trading is definitely more risky than investing. However, there is risk in both and there is no guarantee of success in either case, and we should understand this clearly. We cannot take investment very easily, here we have to make sure that we are investing in the right place, various research is needed, and to manage the investment properly, we need to have our own skills, everything is necessary. But investing is more potential and less risky than trading, this is 100% sure.

Trading is actually more riskier than investing when you holds some trusted coins you wouldn't be that afraid of any lose moreover if you hold Bitcoin than some shitcoin out there. If I want to quantify your analysis I would say that both are risky but when you buy Bitcoin or trade Bitcoin the risk is also lesser because when the Market is dropping you could lose your in Bitcoin but the units remains the same without any changes except the price gets back to the original price level before you could be that gaining back what you had lost.
Both trading and investing have risks, but yes, trading is generally riskier than investing. Because in trading, people try to make a profit in the short term, but if the market reverses a little, there is a big loss. On the other hand, investing is a matter of patience, where one has to be patient for a long time. When an investor holds trusted coins, investing is much easier.

Popular and powerful coins like Bitcoin have proven many times over the long term that they can bounce back even after a big fall. So there is much less fear when investing in trusted coins. Bitcoin is much safer than other small or unreliable coins. But if an investor invests in new coins or so-called shitcoins, there is a risk factor. Because most shitcoins can suddenly increase in price but later collapse completely. So if you invest in the right place and know how, investing is never risky.
