I don't see much reasons to click the ignore button on a user unless he's trolling me, I can always scan through what most people write and see what makes sense that I should respond to. I don't want to ignore someone based on bad writing pattern because there might be a day he makes sense and I'll miss the information because I've totally categorized the person as a Never Do Well. If I end up ignoring you, it's permanent and it should be because of your attitude and not necessarily about what you write.

If I ignore somebody, it means I don't want to read their posts, and since I almost never read my ignore list, it's pretty much almost forever if we're being honest.

That being said, I only ignore spammers and similar types of accounts, as I like to get my information from here, these topics, as quickly as possible.

I don't know how y'all keep up with this but I can't figure it out and it has been on my mind for few days now, so I think it's high time we talk about it because I want to hear from your perspectives.

The thing is, how do you handle those profiles or let me just say users you put on your ignore list?
Did you keep them ignored forever or you revisit the profile/posts to check if a y of them have imporoved their posting patterns or they still keep on repeating it the same things?

I believe nobody get ignored for no reason (unless there's a mistake). Actually, from my own perspectives, I believe some of those users who get ignored might improve in the the future (if not 100% but at least up to 80% quality). Meanwhile, if they are still ignored, how are we supposed to know that they have changed or improved.
I'm open to hear from you all.
If I have to put someone on ignore the person has to be a .personal nuisance with heavy scam intentions mixed in.
If someone is always obviously being provocative at you even when it is not called for you can put the person on ignore for your own peace of mind and sanity.
The duration of is based on the cause that got the person on ignore but these days for me it's best to just willing ignore by avoiding the person except on occasion that doesn't work then a permanent action can be taken.

There is no feature in this forum that gives us the chance to filter what posts we want to see or what we do not want to see. It would have made sense if we could set it to filter out trolls, spammers, scammers, shit posters, shillers, etc. However, since that feature is not available, the ignore button remains relevant to help you stop seeing posts that do not align with the kind of experience you want to have on this forum.

I have put a few trolls on my ignore list, and they've been there for quite a long time; I have even forgotten they exist. Trolling is their pattern; it doesn't seem to me that they are going to change anytime soon. Some bad writers still have a chance of improving, but some trolls who make no constructive write-ups and only troll won’t change.
