Can you pay a bride price with bitcoin?

I recommend users to receive bitcoins and altcoins from Dex.fo to their own non custodial wallet
I agree, it is always better to receive funds into your own self custodial wallet, irrespective of the source. Once the funds are under your control, you can now move it as you please.
If I receive a coin with very high AML score into my self custodial wallet and then later send it to a CEX, what will be the current AML score of the sent coin.

The question is whether a wallet cancels or reduces a particular coin's AML score with respect to its UTXO.

This is a video on Youtube from Andreas Antonopoulos about tainted coins.
Bitcoin Q&A: Blacklists, Taint, and Wallet Fingerprinting.

Understanding about how exchanges do their analyses for having their blacklist, taint, and wallet fingerprinting against their exchange users, people who value their privacy will know importance of doing some further steps for having better safety of their funds before and after funding their accounts on exchanges.

Be careful is better.
Prevention is better than cure.

It does not cost too much for practicing more carefully with some extra steps and a little extra cost.

It's active. The .onion link provided in the first post of this thread, as well as the .onion link on the clean version of the site, works fine and opens without any issues in the Tor Browser. It may only be "inactive" if you try to open it in a different browser. In that case, you will, of course, get an HTTP error 502, since your browser cannot convert the .onion domain into a regular IP address.

This is a video on Youtube from Andreas Antonopoulos about tainted coins.
Bitcoin Q&A: Blacklists, Taint, and Wallet Fingerprinting.

Thanks for this.
I've always wondered how long or how many transactions ago a coin can be considered tainted by a CEX, but I've been too lazy to find out, or I guess it slips my mind each time.
Quick question: For the wallet fingerprinting, doesn't a wallet like Electrum come with that default setting? I mean, they don't put the charge output last and make it obvious to know which output is last, right?

Yes, you're right, I tried to open that link in another browser, so I retract that remark.
Other observations about the site remain.
In short, a functional and high-quality site, with all important and necessary information for the user.

@adultcrypto
Thank you for the kind words! We read every message here and take every suggestion seriously. The community drives us forward — this is exactly the kind of exchange we want to build together.

@aoluain
Brilliant suggestion — system status visible right on the main page the moment a visitor lands. We have noted this and will discuss it with the dev team. The mock-up is very helpful, thank you.

@Ayers
Thank you for testing DEX.fo! Two great suggestions noted — dark/light theme toggle and a tooltip for the refund address field. The refund address is there to protect you in case of a technical failure during the exchange. We will add a short explanation next to it so users understand its purpose right away.

@coupable
The refund address remains useful even after auto-recalculation — for example if the transaction fails or the order expires. Regarding flagged addresses — we do not perform AML checks, we do not screen wallets and we do not block transactions based on origin of funds. DEX.fo is not a mixer. We simply exchange one coin for another. Your coins — your business.

@uchegod-21
You are right that a refund address is a standard concept. However we agree with Ayers that a small tooltip would help newer users understand its purpose at first glance — especially those who are just starting with crypto. It is a small UX improvement that costs nothing but helps everyone.

@bitcoindusts
Thank you for the detailed report and the screenshot! Chain mode is designed exactly for this — full transparency on progress, execution within the stated timeframe. 45 minutes for BTC to LTC is within the expected range. Looking forward to hearing your experience with Fast mode next time. 🙂

@aioc
This is exactly what we built DEX.fo for — 30 minutes, smooth and private. Welcome to your new go-to exchange. We look forward to many more trades. 🙂

@dansus021
Thank you so much for the Indonesian translation! This is a great contribution to the community. We have added the link to our ANN. Welcome and thank you for your work! 🙏

@Daniel91
Thank you for the detailed review and all the suggestions!

Regarding Proof of Reserves — this is on our radar. We understand how important transparency is for building trust and we will work on providing this.

Regarding the affiliate program — it is coming. We will share details here as soon as it is ready.

Regarding API — documentation is in preparation. We will announce when it is available for developers.

Regarding the Onion link — as dwyane36 correctly noted, the link works fine in Tor Browser. The .onion domain simply cannot be opened in a regular browser by design — this is expected behavior.

@MarryWithBTC
Great point about AML scoring and UTXOs. The short answer is — it depends on the CEX and their scoring methodology. Some exchanges look at direct inputs only, others trace back multiple hops. Using a self-custodial wallet does not automatically reset the AML score in all cases. This is exactly why privacy-focused tools and no-KYC exchanges like DEX.fo exist — to give users a clean path without this uncertainty.

[DEX.fo](https://dex.fo/) — No KYC. No AML. No registration.

I recently exchanged 0.0004 or $30 worth of BTC to USDT(ERC-20) and finally received around $29 after fees. The whole process took almost 40 minutes to complete. After checking the mempool, I noticed that the exchange platform only starts processing after getting 2 Bitcoin block confirmations, which probably explains the delay.

I think it would be much more convenient if they also added the BSC network for USDT exchanges. Transactions on BSC are usually much cheaper, which could help users save fees.

That's not bad for the deduction of the commission and network fees.

As for the speed, getting 2 block confirmations might take a while but that's to give assurance for them. Usually, we only see 1 confirmation and the exchange will be made.

Although that kind of thing is understandable and they might change that in the near future.

Congratulations DEX.fo for launching your campaign through Icopress. I noticed this thread through the signature campaign thread.

Main:

✅ Low Fees 0.8 - 1.5%!
✅ Automatically & Without registration!
✅ Assets: .Bitcoin, Litecoin, Monero, USDT, and DAI. (stablecoins ERC-20 ' TRC-20).

Exchange Modes:

Meanwhile, your fee is ridiculously low. Hope is excluding the network fee. Meanwhile, some other exchanges are charging higher. How did you manage to keep it this low.
I have found my new privacy exchange. Hope am free to test it out and drop my feedback in this thread?

I think the fees were made affordable to meet clients satisfactions. By offering a smooth and affordable transactions, privacy policy that ensure clients ip address and logs doesn't fall into the wrong hands shows DEX has the best interests of its client at heart. However, I think your feedback will be appreciated as it will helpe the Dex exchange improve on it service.

Glad to see direct experience here. .

From what I’ve checked on their website and tried to estimate the exchange rate for Bitcoin to USDT, the fee is actually quite low—just around 0.8%—for a processing time of 30–60 minutes. For faster results, it can take just 5–15 minutes, but of course the fee is higher.

Oh, you’re right; if there’s a BSC, the fee might be lower. Because at the moment, it’s temporarily available options on ERC-20 and TRC-20 USDT, which affects the amount that we will receive. Based on the estimates tried, we can actually receive a larger amount when using USDT (ERC-20) than TRC-20. I actually firstly thought that TRC-20 will be lower fee.

BTC to USDT conversion fee looks normal to me, but the transaction took too much time before the block finally confirmed. Normally, block confirmation does not take this long, but sometimes it happens when the network is congested. Still, maybe they should look into whether transactions can be completed much faster during situations like this.

This is because you used Chain Mode, where coins are sent to your address through third-party inter-network bridges and liquidity pools. This causes some delay, and it doesn't necessarily mean two confirmations.

Fast Mode uses their own pool, meaning one confirmation to the Bitcoin network is sufficient.

Quote
CHAIN Mode: The exchange is processed through third-party inter-network bridges and liquidity pools. Due to additional routing and conversion steps between blockchains, the transaction takes longer, but allows the transaction to be successfully completed in the desired direction.

Yep, let's not forget it's probably: 1 confirmation to dex.fo address -> 1+ confirmation to swap on-chain -> 1+ confirmation to send to the output address. Wink

I also wanted to try Fast Mode as well, but the Fast Mode option was not available on their landing page(still not available). As a result, I exchanged to Chain Mode. So in my opinion, if time is not a factor for someone, then Chain Mode is better for them. Because here you can exchange at a fee that is about 50% lower than Fast Mode.
