Yes it is true that digital money makes spending easier and when it is easier, people spend a little more. Having cash in hand gives a different feeling but it is less noticeable when you just see the numbers on the screen. On top of that, after the introduction of credit cards many people's spending has increased even more, because now many people buy unnecessary things with loans. However there is also the opposite, keeping accounts is easier when it is digital. Just by opening the app you can see where and how much is being spent, which was not so clear before, So the whole thing does not destroy discipline, but rather if you have control, it can be managed well.

The shift to digital currency doesn't just change transactions, it changes the discipline of individuals.

Gold was hard to spend and cash was also hard because they were all physical and with time we had physical attachment to them but digital money are easy to spend. A lot of people get to spend the digital money they have from their wallet without knowing that they have spent money because they have no connection to the money and they think that they can earn the money easily hence they spend it easily too. The world is becoming digital and this makes spending very easy and a lot of people are so undisciplined with the way they spend money, they treat money like it is nothing and money does not like to be treated uncontrollably. Digital money made us to become less aware of our expenses and the government also knows this that is why they are trying to digitalize everything with an excuse that they are trying to make the world more global.

I do not know if other people are spending more wastefully since switching to digital payment method instead of cash as they did before. But in my opinion, there is not a big difference between paying with digital currency and cash. The deciding factor is each person's spending habit and financial management skill, not their payment method
Do not blame the digital payment system for causing us to spend and waste more money.

For others perhaps yes, but for me it's the opposite. Digital money makes me spend more extravagantly, especially since everything can now be purchased online, and you can find anything. Conversely, when I hold physical cash, I can still control my spending, but one thing I've noticed is that this is probably because I rarely leave the house. In essence, it's true that digital money changes people's discipline. Honestly, I still have to adapt even though I've been using digital money for years.
Importantly, this behavior doesn't apply to Bitcoin, as I still consider it an asset.

Many friend have told me that they tend to spend more extravagantly since switching to digital money. This is probably true because the feeling of losing money is not as tangible as having to take out cash and count each bill before spending it. This inadvertently led to many people spending more lavishly.
But I think that is entirely possible if we develop the habit of controlling our spending and tracking our budget regularly.

nowadays there are too many money lending apps that people get too comfortable with using it and not paying. this appears in credit score and will have many consequences in the future. people have become careless because of the internet

People's expenses that increase, for example, because they become more frequent online shopping, may depend on each individual who has what kind of habits and discipline. But what is certain is that when income increases the lifestyle usually increases as well, including shopping.

And with a history of spending or income it must exist so it's true what you say this does not destroy discipline but can be said to simplify or simplify.

Like we're now starting to see; governments, financial institutions, and even households are pushing or accepting the possibility of a very high percentage shift to digital money.

Although it has its many advantages as one would, it completely changes everything about human discipline.

Firstly, digital money comes with the flexibility of easy transfers, and easy transfers mean easy and fast spending.

Secondly, there's less physical awareness of money. What this does is changing the spending psychology of individuals.

The shift to digital currency doesn't just change transactions, it changes the discipline of individuals.

Digital money won’t change financial discipline because, for most people, there is no perceptible difference between new digital currencies and the electronic wallets we’ve used for years.

We already pay with a single tap or through a smartphone app. It’s a proven fact that people spend less when they carry physical cash—counting bills makes you acutely aware of your balance. Credit cards and digital payments, however, encourage impulsive spending.

That said, I’m grateful for digital money because it will finally kill off the banking sector. Faster, frictionless cross-border transactions will be a huge help for migrants. But more importantly, bankers are the reason states wage wars and aggressive, militant politicians rise to power.

The future, however, isn't a utopia. Instead of bankers, crypto firms will be the ones putting militant presidents in office. Bribery will just move on-chain: why take a suitcase of cash when you can just launch a memecoin like TRUMP and take "donations" that way?

Easy transfers mean easy spending, but it doesn't necessarily promote fast spending, it's not like only because you are able to make transactions quickly, you are going to spend your money quickly. The pace at which you spend your money would still depend on how you spend it normally, the digital payment systems or channels only make the transactions faster, and it doesn't contribute in any irregularities in your spendings. If you as a person are good with your finances in general, digitalization of payments shouldn't disrupt that at all.

What do you mean by physical awareness of money and a change in the spending psychology of individuals? Physical awareness of money is not an important thing, it's not like fiat currencies in physical form will vanish all of a sudden, or won't have any existence, and even if they don't, they will still be preserved in terms of digital data such as images and videos, and individuals of the future can still be able to know how they used to look if that's what you mean.
Yeah, online shopping grew a lot for a reason, and while it may not because "easy spending", it is making it easier and we can't deny it. For regular retail shopping you have to go some place and buy it , that is harder, which means the problem here is not that it's the transaction that is easy, but the way.

So when you have to buy from a shop, you have to go to that shop, when you want to buy online, you are sitting at home and doing nothing but just clicking a few buttons.

Change is inevitable, we are in scientific world, so the use of technology and science is active!. I don't hold that the shift to digital currency change everything. One could be financially discipline or not financially disciplined with digital or not digital currency!.
Everything has to do with the person's mindset and how they plan to manage their spending, save, or whatever. Digital can only make spending money easier, but who is spending will be the one to choose if they want to spend or save. Every innovation comes with its own advantages and disadvantages, and we are all left to make our choices based on how we want to benefit from it.

I don't really get it. Some people say that they spend more when they have cash on them, some say that they spend more when they are using digital payments and having their money in digital wallets, but why does no one talk about what actually the matter is in all this? It's not about having cash or digital money, it's about a lack of financial management if you are unable to control yourself from spending money without any idea how much you are spending, that is because you don't have a proper way to spend your money, you have never created and used a budgeting system, which is why you are facing this problem.

Those people who are very good at managing their finances won't face such issues whether they are using cash or digital payments, because they create a budget for their expenditures, and they spend money only on specific things and keep the stats so that they can review how they spent their money in case they feel they have gone out of budget. This allows them to evaluate and then re-plan their budgeting in the next month so that they don't go over the budget. It is difficult for sure, but it is effective as well.

So when you have to buy from a shop, you have to go to that shop, when you want to buy online, you are sitting at home and doing nothing but just clicking a few buttons.

Based on my wife experiences she like online shopping because  no time friction between what she want and when she can purchase because all items is right before her eyes, and easy to make price comparison, instant checkout and easy payment, especially with instant priority services, she can received good within 1-3 hours. After clear calculation, online shopping more cheap than we buy on store or leaving house because when we go outside for shopping usually we have another expenses sucah as transportation but hanging out buy coffe and eating usually more expensive. My wife said but she must be carefull with saving illusion from shopping online, there are many discount, cashback voucher, free shipping, many people ythink they are saving money but matter of fact thet buy something unimportant and be carefull with impilsive buying.

It's not "how" they pay, it's "where" they pay that made the difference. If you are paying digitally, like with your phone, or credit card or whatever, instead of cash, it doesn't matter and you will spend the same at a shop, because you are physically there and you make that difference. But if we are talking about online?

Like going on amazon and buying some stuff? And then, we are not going to actually see something that would be looking that good for any of us, things will not be easy and we will definitely see things change for the worse. This is why the best situation we can have right now would be to make sure that we are not spending more online and we try to be as careful as we can be, otherwise things can get out of hand.

What digital currency did for financial transactions is that it makes transfers to be very convenient and fast, you don't have to hold physical cash to make payments, it has also reduced the risks of carrying physical cash around. As for spending more money because a person can easily make transfers that has to do with discipline, a person who doesn't have self control about spending money will spend more money than they should.

In this age where you can sit in the comfort of your home and shop, you will make payment and have what you paid for delivered to your doorstep it will make undisciplined spenders to easily become broke. For people that are prudent about their spending the digital cash will only be a convenient way for them to make payments it cannot make them to spend irresponsibly. It is important for income earners to learn about financial management especially in this digital cash era so they will know how to make budget and spend wisely.

The truth of the matter is, digital currencies have made access to money and use of money for transactions among other activities such as investment, trading and lavishing a whole lots easier than it used to be prior to this development. Even the mobile banking for these commercial banks have made it easier for one to send funds to people. These days I wake up to early morning and next thing I will recieve is a call of an old friend or a family relations who is in a need for financial assistance and I have no other choice than to send them money by pressing on few buttons on my dialpad and phew the money will just leave your account to the one of the recipient.

The shift or swapping to the digital transaction is affecting local businesses because those market people were not good or were illiterate when the system was introduced to them so they can't adapt to the system and it is affecting businesses in my area. And another thing again government is using it to increase tax upon tax. Right now, those whoa not workers in any form or establishment are taxes heavily. This might cause a serious revolution in the third world countries.

With digital money it does make us much easier to spend money in transactions that are all digital, today almost 90 percent of my life transactions use digital payments and we know it is enough to make someone easier to use the money available in our account or wallet.
The transition of transactions and balances or in the ownership of money does change a lot of our financial life activities today, especially for me who is active in any digital world whether the crypto industry, stocks, marketplaces and so on money rotates faster in digital transactions.

Yeah, like it does actually make it easier, that means you do not have to carry around a lot of money everyday, it is also a trouble because it leads to debt. What people do not understand about cards is that, you could have a credit card and spend way more than you can pay back. I have done this, not for fun, for other reasons that I just had to, but now I have been paying debt for many years now.

This month, for the first time ever in YEARS, like for the past five years or so. This month is the first month I have zero debt left, literally none. Yes I also have no money left Cheesy. But at least I have no debt. I have cut my credit card, so I am not going to use it again, and all I have to do ow is to live within my means.

In current time digital currency make it easier to make transactions and also people spends more through it as compared to physical cash. Cash has feelings with physical money and people remains in control while spending through it. And credit cards also increase the spendings because through it you can buy now and pay latter but after it puts financial stress on individuals. But digital system have many benefits like you can track your expenses through transaction history and itself its a very useful and don't destroy yours financial discipline although its depends on consumers mindset. Many individuals use it wisely and mange there finance in a well and organized way and through better profit habits they also create a margin to invest money and growing the individuals wealth.

The shift to digital currency doesn't just change transactions, it changes the discipline of individuals.

I can agree deeply to the fact that the shift in digital currency indeed does change the spending discipline, maybe not immediately but definitely over time the principle changes because the needs and access of the individual changes so in response to that the discipline over time adjusts. handing over cash often makes people more conscious of what they are spending, while tapping a card or just simply clicking a button can make transactions feel almost effortless so the mindeset shits then over time, that convenience can then subtly influence spending habits and how people in general perceive the value of money.

The shift to digital currency doesn't just change transactions, it changes the discipline of individuals.

Digital currency have had it's bad and it's good on people and if I am to speak about the bad then I will say digital currency change the habit of people from being savers to spenders since they can easily spend their digital money without being emotionally attached to it unlike how it happens when you decide to spend cash. Digital currency has made life better and since it's a new development it will definitely have its positive contributions on people and some of those positive are the borderless transaction that digital currencies offer also some of the advantages of digital currencies includes you being able to carry a large amount of money virtually without you physically moving the money from one location to another.
