2-3 graphic cards

Hey,

I am on my way to buy a motherboard with 2-3 pcie slots. And a lot of motherboards have 1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 and 1 x PCIe 2.0 x4 and even 1 x PCIe 2.0 x1. Am i going to get lower mh/s with the 1 x PCIe 2.0 x4/1 spaces ?

No lots of people run on the x1 slots with extender cables they get the same hash rates as everyone else does, just make sure the board you are getting has enough space between the connectors you will use for the cards you will use to fit into them without problems.

I would strongly recommend powered extenders though (that get power through an extra molex connector). Many motherboards dont like supplying 3 power hungry cards, particularly not on PCI-E 1x or 4x slots.

Cablesaurus says you only need powered extenders if you're using a high powered card (5970 or 6990, and perhaps 6970 and 5870), but any lower powered cards should be fine, even if you have multiple.

additional tip: if you're not hurried for time, you can buy extenders from Chinese sellers for way less. (around $4-$5)
