As for the ''real'' Croatian team at the World Cup, unfortunately I expected that.

Sorry, but I really didn't expect to get fucked over by VAR. Or at least not so much. I don't mind losing fair and square, but this kind of use of technology in football kills all the joy. You can't even celebrate goals anymore because you have to wait 10–15 seconds to see whether they find something or not. And if they want to find something, they will, then justify it with some sort of bullshit explanation and there's nothing that you can do about it.
I'm leaving for a holiday on Monday, so at least this has solved the conundrum of whether I should take my laptop with me just to watch the rest of the World Cup while I travel across Europe. 

As for Team Croatia, ahead of us is the biggest challenge yet, Little Italy. Since Croatia has a good track record vs Italy, I expect positive result this time as well. 

Yes, I agree, VAR is a nightmare and because of this technology football is slowly turning into NBA basketball, with all those stupid hydration breaks and referees who watch slow motion footage of every suspicious situation on the field for 5 minutes on TV, it has completely changed the way football is played and killed the joy and spontaneity of the game.
However, even though VAR hurt our team yesterday, I still stand by my opinion that this is the weakest Croatian team in the last 3 World Cups.
Our defense was disastrously bad, especially in actions after the break, corners and free kicks and we simply conceded too many easy goals, especially in the games against England and Portugal.
With such an unconvincing and uncoordinated defense, not much can be done at the World Cup where very small details really matter.

I thought they wouldn't qualify after Senegal leads 2-0, and I was quite happy to see the team that knocked us lose, but unpleasant thing they were still able to get through, after making us lose.

Honestly, everything is getting harder and harder – both the questions that need to be answered and the goal scorers that need to be predicted. It takes a lot more concentration, but also a lot of luck in the knockout stage. I hope my team, Team Balkans, will go through

I feel sorry for your loss, it sucks to lose in such way. I agree that all these technologies kills joy, but I don't really know what to say about this situation because everything was done by  the rulebook. Even if there is minimal touch or minimal offside, it's still against rules and calling it differently would be even more contraversial.

It seems like Egypt knew about the goal keeper and came prepared. They studied him and prepared all players on how to beat him and it seems to have worked perfectly. The keeper got tricked this time around and Egypt made it to the Round of 16. Asian countries are not lucky this time as they didn't go far.

This is the beauty of our group I think, no matter our team is up or down, the sadness and glory is shared together. I really feel this from all our members, and its easy to be happy when you're on top, the true test is when you're down.
