Is Government Responsible For Bad Economy?

Who else should be held responsible for bad economy if not the Government, government are the once that should be responsible for the GDP of a country, they’re the once making all the business decisions and business arrangements, so perhaps we should be more concerned about ourselves and wellbeing instead of being affected by the government policies, the citizens aren’t responsible for bad economy because they’re not the once who are responsible for making those decisions and handling the affairs of the country.

Off course government is responsible for any country economy, a country where the government are nonchalant towards their citizens and economy , the said country may not have any good development, bad governance is the worst thing to happen to any country ,because when the head of a place is not behaving well how will the other part manage, our leaders are our head whereas they don’t do things right it will definitely affect us , and sometimes we also contribute a little to bad economy.

That's contributes a lot as we all know that bad governance affects the development of the country, if the leaders are good then they may produce good rules and ordinance that will help to increase the chances of the people that surrounds them to get benefits, though people also needs to work and be a good part of the development but leadership will bring the good success to each nations to be a good and well developed place.

Very true. The government has the responsibility for the economic condition in the country. It is because the government that makes the policy of everything in the country, it is including the policy related to the economy sector. If they government doesn't care with the condition of the economy in a country, no doubt that there will be improvement of the economic condition there. This is happening in my country, we have a bad economic condition due to lack of proper management in the economic sector. The value of our currency is declining quickly, meanwhile the prices of goods are raising gradually.

It is impossible to avoid the influence of the government policy. As long as we still live in the country, we are tied with the policy.

After looking at some functions of the government,  we will see that it is always the government that is responsible for the provision of either a good or bad economy. When any government fails, the result is always hardship and bad economy

When their people struggle to survive, it often gives the impression that the government is not doing its job properly and may be involved in negative things such as corruption, laziness or failing to provide the best solutions for its citizen. When the government cannot provide proper solutions, society will starts showing negative effects such as rising criminal behaviour and increasing numbers of uneducated people.

The government really got a major role in a country and when it fails in its responsibilities, the results are exactly like you said. Don't forget that citizens also play an important role because when the government is involved in corruption or other bad actions, people should criticize and hold their leaders accountable instead of staying silent and watching them enjoying the results from corruption.

It's correct that the government is responsible for the poor economy, but if a country has less resources such as natural resources or agricultural land, then it will not be easy to develop that country. How much that country will progress economically depends on turning its citizens into resources. Because without skilled manpower, the structure of a country will not be strong. To build a skilled and talented citizenry, the education sector must be improved. It is not possible for the government alone to reach its target because the productivity of the country has to be increased and for this, a skilled citizenry must be built.

Some of the places in many countries are deserts where crops do not grow, but they have natural resources such as crude oil reserves under the ground. Through proper management, it is possible to develop the country through those oil resources. Without putting the entire responsibility on the government, it is possible to improve the country's economy through proper management in conjunction with conscious citizens and pressure groups.

Definitely there should be held responsible, since there are responsible of GDP of a country, the only person that can solve this problem of bad economy is the government and that is why you can see that, they make sure that they have good relationship between them and their Neighboring countries, that alone help grow their economy. If the government decides to improve the economy of the Nation, I don't think it will take them any more time because they have the strength to do it.

As a Nigerian am aware that annually the senate approves the national budget for the year. This budget drives development for infrastructure, Education, Health and Defence. The federal government also allocate funds to the state government monthly through the federation account allocation committee (FAAC).To cap it all there has been an appreciation in naira. But the price of commodities in the market are still high with traders holding onto the old prices,while in the transportation sector touts and security personnel are imposing taxes on the driver giving hike to transport fare and in the education sector,The University precisely which manipulate expenses like tuition and health services  which are free into the fees paid by students.There is also a case of landlords who increase their rent annually.
I know the Government administration has been corrupt for more than a decade now but we the citizens unconsciously support this corruption.

Something is wrong if the citizens are supporting corruption in a country, consciously or unconsciously it doesn't make a difference, those citizens who do such are obviously gaining from the corruption one way or the other it seems.

There is no other explanation to this matter than this, youths in my country for example keeps doing frauds because once they are caught they always bribe their ways out of the situation, the leaders are also doing something similar robbing the resources of the country.

This is why leaders need to lay a good example for those at their back, it will stand as a reminder that evil ways can easily get out of control, like a virus that can't be controlled.

Adding to what you said  as a Nigerian we all  are aware of the approval of the national budget annually for  the development of the nation  to sincere out of hundred percentage of bad economy government has the eighty percent because we all know  Nigerian is corrupt but  if government cares to amend they could have followed up to see how the economy is in country after the national budget is being  allocated to each destination that is supposed but due corruption government relax not to cares about how pain the economy has Obviously in Nigeria it has shown that  eighty percent government is responsible for  bad economy due  to not  being irrespective of carrying out proper investigation towards people who are in charge of the budget allocation because mostly  before the money reach out  to the needs they have crippled it so even  if it will reach out to the needs it won't be enough serve them.

Indeed. It is strange if citizens support corruption. There must be something wrong done by the government to them. Perhaps some influential people among them have been bribed. So, they can influence the citizens to support the corruption.

There must be a revolution if it keeps happening. But it isn't something easy to do. Even in my country this also happens, but we also have no idea about the solution for now.

Of course, leaders must show their good behavior. It is because the future of a country is in their hands. They make any policy that can make a better condition for a country or it leads to a worse condition.

Local governments are responsible. But they're not the only ones. External factors can also put economies at risk. Not a local economy, but the entire, global economy. Like what's been happening these days. The US' actions against Iran, greatly affected the global economy. This is out of local governments' hands. The Russo-Ukraine conflict also had a similar effect.

A country can have a booming economy, but if there are external geopolitical tensions, everything will "sink" faster than you could imagine. Hopefully, the economic situation improves in the future. Only time will tell.

In today's modern government, we see fundamental problem, in the political ecosystem, democracy, power, money and corruption are interconnected. The main reason of coruption is political cost is very expensive for media campaign, mass mobilization, party patronege and digital operation and propaganda, no more competition of ideas its merely now as competition for resources. Many politician not see office as public service but more as regulatory control, access to project and business network so political capital can be return, many people start see coruption as a part of the power reproduction and they start normalize corruption because its persist for long time and involve almost all political group. I see mostly has thingking as all politicians are the same, as long as they still working, corruption is normal even it is wrong and bad thing. What make it dangerous, because corruption is no longer seen as an aberration but as part of political culture.
