After I saw the announcement about his fight against Kristian Prenga, I already assumed Anthony Joshua would win, but now that you mention this, I wonder how much his fight against Fury will be affected if he loses the fight against Kristian Prenga. I'm sure it won't be good for his upcoming fight against Fury if he loses against what is supposedly a "warm up fight"

He should not lose so much at stake here, a chance to fight Fury in a mega event, and he will lose his reputation by losing to an unknown fighter with no good credentials.
I'm sure they scouted Prenga for this fight. If Joshua failed to deliver, then he is not yet ready to go back to top-notch competition, and people will think that he is still not mentally cured from the recent accident in which he was involved.

Yes, he is expected to win and as what others say, this should be easy but he still needs to train and push himself because this is a comeback fight for him after that accident. We don't want him to lose this fight from a unknown and then the fight with Fury being derailed, although it said that the fight with Fury is also scheduled.

If he fails to deliver then maybe everything will be reset, go back to zero again and have him fight another one to prepare for a big fight against Tyson Fury. Same with Fury too, he needs to win his tune up fight too.

Anthony Joshua is making a comeback fight this July against Kristian Prenga. And this is Joshua's first fight after that accident killing two of his best friends and his trainer. Probably this is in preparation against Fury before the end of the year.

So nothing fancy about this fight, his opponent is a cherry pick for him. And just like Fury fighting Makhmudov.

First time to hear this name Kristian Prenga and looking at his record, i'm impressed as he has 20 wins all by knockouts and one loss. I agree that this is a cherry picked fighter for Anthony Joshua who might not be 100% physically and mentally at the moment because of what happened to his two best friends and i just hope though that we won't see a repeat on what happened when he faced Andy Ruiz where he got no confidence and lost the fight in the process.

I understand, but I think we can't compare the two. In the Andy Ruiz fight, AJ comes with beaming confidence that it's going to be a easy walk in the park for him. But when he goes down the first time, we see that Joshua's eyes is telling "oh" and that is the end for him.

But here we are expecting that he doesn't have that confidence because of the said incident. So we don't know what version of Joshua is going to show against Prenga although if we look at it, Joshua could be a big favorite here.

I understand AJ tries to get a warm up before his seriuos game against TF, but why Kristian Prenga? He can get a better name such as Whyte or Joyce. It can be more interesting if he picks an opponent that can fight him well even if it was for warm up purpose. I feel a bit disappointed with how team choose Prenga.

If his team picks a fighter with better rank, it can be a pretty good morale boost when he can win it. Even Jack Paul rematch sounds better than this you know.  Cheesy
Do you think Kristian Prenga is just an amateur fighter that Anthony Joshua picks to fight him in July? If you don't know Kristian Prenga was once a kickboxing champion before going into boxing. He has recorded about 20 wins and 1 loss. All the 20 wins he has had were by knockout.

Anthony Joshua fighting him is a good one to test his capabilities and recovery process to continue with his boxing career. Remember, Joshua has a big match ahead of him later this year. He won't stay without testing his boxing tactics to be in shape before then

Joshua just knocked out Prenga in the second round after being floored by Prenga in the first round. I am looking for a video or the highlights of that action, but here are the highlights of the fight as it happened.

In other news, Tyson Fury beat Walsch via 7th-round TKO, so we are now going to have the much-awaited Fury - Joshua match after their respective victories.

That's one hell scary fight for Joshua, good that recovered from that first knockdown. This is one thing that i don't like betting on Joshua, he is such an unpredictable fighter, we don't know if upset will happen if it involves him in a fight. Now that he has done his job, we may now see the Battle of Britain but with the way he performed tonight, i'm going to put my money on Tyson Fury.

Here is the video of the fight:

.

Good thing is that it was not as heavy as it looks like so Joshua has time to recover and recuperate quickly after that.

And I don't know what happened to Prenga is the second round, it looks like he was hurt early as he was not that aggressive and then Joshua taking advantage of it. So at least the Fury vs Joshua is still going to happen, all British fight.

This could be the comeback of the year, as AJ was down twice in the first round and it looks like Prenga is going to win. But AJ keeps his cool and patience in this fight and then connect with his right hand sending Prenga down.

You can see in the background the Eddie Hearn was jumping for joy after AJ finishes Prenga for good. Obviously, in the first round when AJ was down, maybe Hearn was thinking of the money that he potentially losing as they have poised to see the fight with Tyson Fury.

But now, it's back and so for all the glory of British boxing, we are going to witnessed the Fury vs Joshua fight.

What happened to Prenga after an explosive opening round? He was supposed to dictate the fight. After flooring Joshua two times, he wasn't throwing those punches anymore. Why was he suddenly on the defensive? Prenga's corner is probably aware Joshua legs are already giving up, but it seems they aren't taking advantage. Prenga himself seemed to be clueless how to continue moving forward and looked to his corner.

Anyway, great comeback for Joshua. The man has the punch. But it seems he doesn't have the legs. I doubt he could survive Fury's weight.

That was a rough start for sure. Knocked down 20 seconds into the beginning of his comeback. I thought we were looking at another McGregor or Rousey letdown of a fight. Glad to see it turned around. Fighting fans are getting tired of watching terrible fights I think.

This would have been a shocker if AJ couldn't find his feets back after an early first round defeat, going down twice. My guess on the press would have been that he was still not over the trauma of the accident he had in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Sagamu axis last year. But he got back stronger in second round and did the magic with his right punch. He surely has good punch with his right hand. However, the fight to watch is that of him and Tyson fury who is a resilient fighter. It is going to be an heavyweight cracker. I searched to see if they have had a fight in the past and what I got was a lighter fight decade ago, not professional at this stage. So this victory against Prenga is going to get him back to confidence after the incident of the accident.

I don't know why fighters take these pointless warm up fights as they're way too risky. AJ almost got KO'd in one round and Fury looked embarrassing against an aged journeyman, though both ultimately went on to get the wins, but at what cost? If they're rusty because they've been out of the ring for a while with "ring rust" as they say, just do some decent sparring with other top pros rather than risk losing or looking washed up in the ring. I think the longer it goes on the less hyped or excited people become for the big fight. They both need to make sure they face each other next now before one of them gets badly embarrassed or suffers a serious injury that either puts them out all year or even ends their careers.

I observed the disappointed smile on AJ's face after the first Knock Out. Maybe he never thought Prenga would come up with those strong punches. The second KO was a shocker and I thought Prenga would win if he continued at that pace. The Albanian seems to lose his momentum, and this gave the British power the leverage to come back stronger. I kept rewatching Joshua's jab, tagging and two powerful punches that nearly knocked Prenga out of the ring.

Anyway, great comeback for Joshua. The man has the punch. But it seems he doesn't have the legs. I doubt he could survive Fury's weight.
Fury didn't have a good fight. He struggled to beat 46-year-old Mariusz Wach. Fury and Joshua are a perfect match considering their underperformance.

I have seen Anthony Joshua training a lot of times together with Olexander Usyk, who has vacated his all his belts and probably retired. As part of Anthony Joshua team died car accident in Africa, can Usyk become his new or unofficial coach? This weekend we were observing Joshua return and test of what he has learned from Usyk? That is why there was two knockdowns first, because Joshua was adopting new fighting style/training regime to opponent, and later Joshua rehabilitated himself by a beautiful knockout.

Perhaps they don't think that there is much of a opposition on this supposedly cherry pick fighters. But we have seen that in worst cases, they could be upset by this unknown boxers and the plan for the biggest showdown could not have happened if AJ's chin didn't held up.

So they are very lucky that both of them has won their respective fight. So there's no question that Turki and Eddie Hearn need to set up the fight for good as they have won their comeback fight already.

Correct me with this one, but for me, it seems like AJ is just trolling on that game. I don't know, but that's how I felt as I watch the fight.
I mean when he got knocked down 20 seconds on the first round, he's just smiling. He went serious when he got knocked down the 2nd time though.

AJ had an idea on how strong Prenga's punches is, and he believed that he can win on this fight so he went all-in and in the 2nd round, he unleashed those punches that caused Prenga to knock down and didn't beat the 10-count anymore. Don't criticize me if I felt that AJ's trolling on this fight, but I think from the start, we already knew that he will win in this one, didn't we? With this win by both AJ and Fury, the fight between both of them will be happening and it's inevitable.

can Usyk become his new or unofficial coach?
Are there any news about this one? Or it's just you saying some things? I don't see this happening, and I don't see Usyk retiring for good now especially when he said that he wants to fight one last time before he retires.

Perfect analysing.

According to the commentary,  that was one of the worst first round for Anthony Joshua in this history of his boxing career. We could see him laughing and giggling, but that was all psychological. ( deep down he was disappointed as shit).

Anthony Joshua though came on with the offensive strategy during the second round, this is what I thought Prenga would do but he got punished with too much defensive strategy. He got his stepping and moving wrong for a minute and Anthony Joshua utilised that minute to pounce on him with a massive blow. We'll see, we'll see. Fury a monster!!

Anthony Joshua is making a comeback fight this July against Kristian Prenga.
I was very disappointed watching the boxing bet between Anthony vs. Kristian, they only lasted two rounds with a knockout win, the referee stopped the fight, I thought at the start the match would be exciting, where Prenga punched Joshua until he collapsed, I thought this boxing would be won by Kristian, but it turns out the facts reversed 100©.

I was surprised in the second round, when Joshua got up with a calm spirit, when he threw a series of punches that was when Prenga was no longer powerless, the crowd had started to become quiet and silent about the incident and until finally the match was stopped.

This situation really happened beyond reason, even though Joshua's knockout victory against Prenga was a good decision, but I also can't wait to see the next boxing, even though it is reported that Joshua will fight Tyson Fury, I think this is just a real duel.

That was almost a total disaster for AJ.
There is so much riding on a match with Fury; those plans were so close to being ruined.

He has just been through a really difficult time and that was his first fight since, I can understand the rustiness he showed in the first round. I am happy that he was able to find himself again within the break and come back really strong in the 2nd round to knockout Prenga.
Had Joshua not been able to win this fight, it would have been a really more difficulty place for him, because he would have the thought that he may never be able to recover fully to be fit enough to win a fight.
He needs more preparation for his next fight with Fury because unlike Prenga, Fury will not sit back and not fight back in the second round after just having a good first round.
