You are right people needs to always go through something before making their conclusions and not assume things to be what they are not just because of the name of the thing. Misinformation is the reason why a lot of people has made some careless mistakes because they saw what someone posted and decided to apply what they saw without personal research that's why one of the best ways to be sure about anything is to do a good background check personally do that you don't go about spreading wrong information that you got from others.

Definitely the right thing to do after discovering any new platform. Though few people fail to do this while some others are patient enough to go through the platform before making any conclusion. You don't have to be surprised because there are people that don't bother to do research which can be unreasonable to suggest to them.
