The trezor 5 has worked fine so far.
It is in a bank vault as it holds most of my BTC
Here's hoping trezor makes the big screen version without a battery and without bluetooth.
I will get just for the bigger screen
I don’t understand the need to store the hardware wallet in a bank vault? Can you help me understand that thought process? Are you no longer receiving BTC to this wallet address? Even if you never send some out, what if you need to generate new receive addresses? And what are you protecting from, physical access and hacking of the device itself?
Just trying to understand. I leave my Safe 7 at home hidden usually, but I’ve thought of keeping it on my person as well with it’s ability to connect to mobile platforms more easily. I just don’t have similar concerns I guess.
Some users may have a multisig setup like the one envisaged by Frostsnap, where signing devices are stored in geographically distant locations; then it may make sense.
Also I have read an article about a family that sold all their property to live exclusively off Bitcoin, storing their backup hardware devices on different continents. They are likely to use an approach to keep their hardware wallets in bank vaults.
