At this point, individuals don’t really need to depend on others to understand bitcoin. With the growth of technology, it makes sense to reduce personal-level promotion and let information spread through wider platforms.

You probably already know about the situation in France and how cases of wrench attacks have been increasing there. It has now become a real challenge for people to find ways to stay private and protect themselves. I still agree with you that it is better to reduce personal-level promotion of bitcoin.

I could be that India guy working with Binance Exchange going through people's information, and passing it to my group back home, and I can make them go to people's home to forcefully collect some Bitcoin from them, at gun point or using machetes and swords.

I can be that that hacker who doesn't care about stealing from exchanges anymore, but rather prefer to go after exchanges data, KYC information and many others then bring up a dirty group of people who are good at home invasion.

Your missiion is long over fellas, Bitcoin have gotten passed that lack of awareness stage, drop everything and live a silent life, it's for you and your families sake, may we live long enough to enjoy everything we have worked for.

What you are saying or what you said here doesn't even correlate with what you are preaching, what does telling people about bitcoin got to do with a binance staff who goes about stealing users information and sending to a private group of criminals or armed robbers? Because if you think about this well enough, you will realize that whether or not you talk about bitcoin in the open, it doesn't stop the binance staffs from getting your information and sending it to his or her gang.

Same thing applies to your second scenario or example or assumption, whether or not you talk about bitcoin in the open, it doesn't stop a hacker who hacks an exchange and steal your kyc information there and use your kyc details against you..

The only way to avoid falling a victim to any of this scenarios you mentioned is to simply avoid using centralised exchanges, and maybe other centralised platforms as well, because this has nothing to do with talking about bitcoin or preaching bitcoin to prospective investors, though I am still against this as well as its also not safe to avoid kidnappers and armed robbers as well.

Proper dumb post. You can always promote BTC and any other cryptocurrency for that matter without disclosing your identity in an anonymous manner which pretty much nullifies your entire post op. Wrench attacks are hardly surprising and can be avoided.

They are just like robbing people of their gold, FIAT etc. Use your head wisely(multi-sig wallets, withdrawal limits, trying your best to stay anonymous etc) people.

No need to relentlessly promote bitcoin here in the forum because the members of this forum are most likely users of bitcoin already. I understand the fear, it is not new and it is not weird either. I get that it may not be something that is all that crazy neither. Because we have seen a lot of people who shared information regards to their bitcoin and how much they have and it ended badly for them.

This is why promoting bitcoin should be up to people like me ,and similar people to me, we have no proper bitcoin amounts, and if someone hacked us, we have nothing to be hacked, they would be more pissed than us, because they would waste time to get nothing lol. In the beginning, people could not gain knowledge about Bitcoin in that way and at that time, due to the lack of proper and good sources to learn about it, people had to rely on others, which later became a reason for confusion about the security issue. Yeah, you are correct. But I think regardless of our location, we still need to pay extra attention while discussing about crypto space and our involvement in this space for the safety of our own and our family. It is ok to discuss your involvement in the crypto space with your family, and I still recommend talking about this with friends because if you are talking with your friends, then your friends will surely have their next friends with whom they can discuss you doing and matters. Getting my point here?

And again, if I talk about the location point, then it is not a big matter if you live in such a place that is a hotspot or not, because you know that this is the time of the internet, and videos of such attacks are also being circulated on social media and spreading rapidly. It's individual choice and it depends on your approach of doing this.

If you do this with your anonymous account like this one in this forum, I don't see any thing risky for your personal identity and physical life at all. If it is going to the public places, show your face and do some speeches in front of the crowd, I don't know it is a safe thing to do. You can do it if you feel it is safe and you can not stay outside the Bitcoin adoption growth without your contributions. It's personal vision to do, contribute for the society and Bitcoin community, it's not like right or wrong thing.

I understand what you mean. But until now, I still see people sharing screenshots of their trades or portfolios on social media. Of course, I don't care about them, but there are still many who are not aware of the dangers they are causing. 
Besides, I believe those who have a large amount of Bitcoin will not shout loudly to anyone for recognition. Many of them are just beginners.

Promoting Bitcoin is not a bad idea, but the way some people create awareness about it can be problematic. It is possible to introduce Bitcoin to someone without even mentioning that you hold any percentage of it. However, when people try to force others to adopt Bitcoin, that is when some begin to expose themselves talking about how much they own or even revealing it to people close to them.If we learn how to communicate properly about Bitcoin, there will be no need for anyone to expose themselves or prove its value by showing their personal involvement. When I was introduced to Bitcoin, the person who told me about it did not say he was holding any amount. When I asked him, he said he was only planning to invest but had not started because he did not have the money.

Despite that, the way he explained Bitcoin encouraged me to do my own research. That approach made me interested in adopting Bitcoin, even before I completed my further investigation.The best advice we can give people is that they should not expose their personal achievements.but let know that talking about Bitcoin is not enough to convince others to take bad decision but how you present the information matters. I think the fear or concern you’re experiencing is perfectly normal. Indeed as Bitcoin continues to grow and its adoption expands, it naturally brings risks for those who hold it. After all, there will inevitably be a handful of people who wish to exploit this situation for criminal purposes. However, this doesn’t mean the main solution is to stop talking about Bitcoin. Rather, it’s about how to raise awareness regarding privacy and security, perhaps one way is to remain anonymous and avoid flaunting your assets, particularly in public, as this can provoke criminal activity, by not doing so, you can minimise the risk. I used to flaunt my Bitcoin assets on social media, until i realised that this was wrong and that there was no benefit in doing so.

Bitcoin was never just about hype or promotion. A big part of it is still education and helping others use it safely. Risks are real, but going completely silent isn’t the answer either. Just stay private, careful, and use common sense.

Yes, I get your point. You talk only to the people you're very close with. Because you have more safety with them. But just still make sure that you won't be affected that much with it whenever someone is trying to play it out. It's actually a good thought you've made there and if it's about motivating others through online, that's better. Talking to the others in real life and personal could be not that good at all if the concern is safety.
