One feeling I've discovered over the years is, when you're winning, greed steps in and you don't feel like stopping and immediately you start losing the thought of recovering all the little that has been lost

By nature, gambling is made to be addictive. Still, we are not to allow addictions set in for us even as we gamble because it is full of having fun, if you are winning, you will feel like to continue playing so that the winning could as well continue, same thing the way if you are losing, oh that's my first come to your mind is how you could recover from losing so that you don't end up a loser, brothers we are doing all this we are being forgetful that gambling could not be predicted and mostly comes in the opposite direction we expect of it.

One feeling I've discovered over the years is, when you're winning, greed steps in and you don't feel like stopping and immediately you start loosing the thought of recovering all the little that has been lost so you can quit will hit your mind and even though you recover back you still feel like gambling more but in most cases immediately you start losing you just end up losing with few wins until everything is exhausted. As if this is not enough it will still repeat itself in the next gambling session.
So the question is, why don't you quit when you've won quite a reasonable amount? Or when you've evened back your previous max win?
Gambling work like that, you cant just rest for sometime if you are not disciplined, gambling brings out the greed in humans especially winning is involved, it is almost impossible for some gamblers to take their stand if they finally get what they want, they will continue doing the same thing over and over again.
One thing every gambler must understand is that recovering of losses is something that may not achievable so once we get lucky to win something tangible, we are supposed to withdraw the profit enjoy ourselves for that moment or for sometime and come back later because if decide to continue immediately after the wining, we may lose all the amount and even tempted to deposit more, gambling is game that we have take our stand no matter how tempted we are to get greedy.

I think it is called inertia. Sometimes it just looks like it when I set autobet on 30 rolls and hit a big multiplier(my target) after 5 rolls and wasn't around to stop the autobet. But other times it’s really because of inertia that I make several more bets, even though they aren’t needed. Anyway, I don’t lose much because of those inertia bets because I never risk more than I can afford to lose in the first place.

Why do people continue working after making money? Isn't it to make more of it? I've come to understand that in gambling, there's always the desire to test that luck you have after winning a first round and sometimes you come off lucky while other times you regret taking that step but all I'd say is, the way gamblers lack control over some of their urges is what makes them lose more than they have won.

It's basically human nature to constantly want more of something that is making you happy - they are not even necessarily chasing the money but the buzz they get from winning. Casinos put a lot of effort into making a win exhilarating (after lots of losses) - happy music, flashing lights and fun graphics all work as triggers for a player and then that is what they start chasing. It sounds really naive from an outsider view, but when you've formed a habit around this then it becomes what drives you. Feeding money in becomes secondary to chasing the buzz and they almost forget that the intention at the beginning was trying to win. People also end up losing so much money that they have to lie to themselves to hide that fact.

The simple answer to this is greed. That feeling is very hard to control in gambling. The moment someone starts winning, instead of thinking let me stop here, they’ll start thinking what if I can make even more? and that’s where problem starts from.

Even after recovering losses, most people will still not leave because the little wins has already given them confidence and excitement. They’ll start feeling like the next game can bring something bigger, forgetting that same mindset can wipe everything out again.

So the question is, why don't you quit when you've won quite a reasonable amount? Or when you've evened back your previous max win?

If a gambler has won a certain amount of money in gambling at least once, then he will stop and think about what else he can play and multiply this amount. And if this guy really has a lucky day, he will be able to multiply this amount in the end, he will get a pretty big win. And he will remember this feeling forever and will think that it will be like this every time. And that is why gamblers constantly do not want to settle on even one win, dreaming more that they will arrange a complete life change now, but in fact most of them will eventually lose in an attempt to multiply their winnings.

In gambling, optimism always plays against the gambler himself. Although by nature this feeling is conceived as one that will constantly lead a person to victory, and he will not lose hope that in gambling, this feeling is what makes many people withdraw money and invest more and more money on their deposit, losing them and spoiling relations with relatives and friends. But also to be very dependent on banks for loans with high interest rates. This is a serious psychological dead end that requires reflection and acceptance of the truth.

So the question is, why don't you quit when you've won quite a reasonable amount? Or when you've evened back your previous max win?

Those who gamble for years have been in that situation too many times... When I hit something crazy, in most cases, I will continue to gamble with higher stakes... of course, if the win was high enough. I deposited to have fun & hit something big, and when luck strikes, I believe it will strike again... again, of course, most of the time that doesn't happen. But it's all gambling, we don't know what will happen if we don't give it a try...

It should be fun & games if you play with the money you can afford to lose... so when you deposit $50-$100 dolars and go to +$500, is it time to stop? I make that choice at that moment, and I have been there many times... sometimes I will hit the cash out button, sometimes I will simply give it a few more tries... after all, I deposited some small amount and those big/huge bonus buys are just additional fun, and who knows, maybe one day I will hit something really crazy big...

It's not really that easy, and those who can easily start chasing more profit can't easily let go when they are losing or when they are already winning; their greed is what controls them the most and tells them what to do next. If I'm winning and don't quite at that moment try to chase profit and lose below what I already won, if luck allows me to win back what was just recently lost, I will take my withdrawal and close for the day. It's not that easy, but that's something I usually do, but it doesn't occur, as it's hard to raise the balance back to that number; instead, it always ends up losing more and more while trying to recover.

Why does it keep happening? Because most of us shared the same mindset. To continue winning and seize opportunities while still there. And I'd never see it as wrong because we never know if we'll still be lucky again. In fact, it happens to some gamblers.

As long as you never find it regrettable, you have nothing to worry about even if it keeps on happening. It only becomes a problem when we put everything on the line. So even though we are in the chase of winning more, we still need to control ourselves.

If you, OP, have this feeling of continuing the game after winning, then you should ask yourself similar questions. Not everyone plays like this; someone understands that luck rewards irregularly, so expecting more will most often lead to the loss of what you won. You need to be able to appreciate what you have and not serve greed so that you don't cry about your illiberal behavior later.

It's hard to quit when you are still in a winning streak, as much as possible, you don't want to miss the opportunity that you could win more if you continue betting. Simply put, you want to earn more while you think you still have the luck to make you win.

However, there are still some few, highly disciplined gamblers that when they reach their goal, they immediately leave the casino. They don't want to chase their luck, as much as they want to avoid those inevitable losses that mostly happen next after a winning streak. Gambling can be uncertain, but this is one thing I'm sure of, the casino won't allow you to constantly win, that's why after winning, losing comes next.

This is pretty much why it is a good idea to define how much you expect to win and how much you are willing to spend for that particular betting session. I really just think it is a human nature thing, not giving it an excuse but greed is a human nature, so defining what you want before you start guides you and holds you accountable immediately. So if you decide to still be greedy, you can clearly see yourself going beyond the limit you had set yourself, basically admitting to yourself that you dont value your own words.

So the question is, why don't you quit when you've won quite a reasonable amount? Or when you've evened back your previous max win?
This still begs the question, how do you know that you've gotten to the point that the next bet will lead to a loss? If a gambler is certain that if he continues gambling that he's going to loose, it's certain that he's going to stop at that point. But then, no one actually knows the next outcome of a bet and so they just keep on trying to win more and when you've lost a lot, you start to recover your losses and from that point, things can get really messy.

It generally takes an high level of discipline for a gambler to stop gambling at the right time. Most times, it's untill you're even losing back all you've won that you start to consider quitting or pulling back.

I think the feeling of hitting something lingers and it stays that you probably will win another, the feeling boast in you and that's what difficult on quitting afaik. It's hard to explain but there are too many factors that affects it. Psychologically addiction ain't that easy because once you're mind is being feed with it, that scenario you've given is definitely a sign of an addiction. Once you've got that win, it triggers your mind to keep going, same to a loss because you think you can still recover it because you did it one time.

Greed beat your controls especially if you win big and suggest you to keep playing. You don't want to stop and feels that your luck comes and gives you win big. The hunger of another big win comes to you along the previous winning so that makes you chasing the next big wins. If you really lose control, that will just a matter of time you will losing the money and will not get it back. Controlling your emotion will be important so you will stop gambling if you win big.

You already stated the answer; it’s because of overwhelming GREED.

Gamblers often fold and succumb to the endless cycle of winning then losing; or losing then winning. At the end of the day, they will be stuck in that loop until they have accepted or moved-on from the result of their games.
As an example, a person would gamble regardless of the result because they may either (1) recover their losses; or (2) attempt again their luck by gambling again.

The only way to escape this endless cycle is to accept the result- move on if you lost or cash-out your profits as soon as possible.

Because winning creates a ''feel-good'' neurotransmitter within your brain. When you win, your brain experiences a massive surge of dopamine, which motivates you to keep playing, instead of taking a break or leaving the casino immediately. However, this thrill of anticipation might also lead the gambler to develop addiction in the long run.

On the other hand, winning could also boost your confidence in gambling, that would lead to somehow compromising your own control and discipline.

Yeah, that's right but we shouldn't allow greed or selfishness to get hold of us by allowing the nature of gambling to get to us, when we can still outsmart it or beat gambling by being responsible and manage our emotions very well, this should be done in a way that it won't have to affect our wellness, that is to we have to gamble within our budget and stick to the right mindset towards gambling and make every necessary adjustments for us to maintain the fun in it.

Working and gambling is two different thing, how can you even compare these two to be one? When you invest your time and effort to work and you know at the end of everything, you will have your profit and you are sure about it, but gambling doesn't work like that, you invest with the hope that luck will hit your side and if luck doesn't hit you, then its a wasted effort and the only thing that will help you to gain in gambling is when you stopped gambling because it will save you from unnecessary pressure and spending. So don't mislead others by your wrong advice.
