Everything is going well in the competition except what's happening off the pitch. It saddens me that fans, referee and most people are not allowed into some of the host nations, and if movement are restricted, the fun outside of the pitch wouldn't be there.
World cup competition is not just about what's happening on the pitch, but it's an event that brings and unite all nations in the world to a particular host nations, this is why I believe that the Us government is taking the excitement out of the competition with their restriction policies.
Complaints like this wasn't heard of when Qatar, Russia, Germany and south african hosted, if most fans can't travel into the host nations to watch their nation play, then where would this world cup be rated among others that were hosted by other nations?
The worst ever in my own perspective.
The bad thing begins with FIFA expansion the slots for World Cup from 32 teams to 48 teams, and the other bad things appeared recent months with geopolitical conflicts and changes in the USA politics recent years. In theory, politics should not be correlated with sports and should not affect sports but we knew life is not based on theory, and in practice there were disappointed bad things like we are witnessing recent days with World Cup 2026.
FIFA even want to expand World Cup to more teams, that is a terrible idea that is only for money, and I hope that it will not be approved and enforced in future World Cups.
Indeed, politics should be kept out of football, but in reality it is still very much in practice and this is not even the first time and there are also FIFA policies that seem to have double strictness on some. We know there are countries that are not recognized by FIFA, but that does not apply to other countries, which also deserve the same treatment from FIFA.
Before the World Cup started, there were so many debates, and almost all of them were political. We know that some time ago there were countries that were rumored to be withdrawing because of the heated situation, but in the end it did not happen. And we must also know some news about how facilities were obtained by some countries that should not have happened in the World Cup.
