Well if you are smart enough to spot the difference between them, it is not possible that everyone will do thesame. Some people may just feel that the website has upgraded to a new version and many things have changed because some site do upgrade and the interface will change completely. You wouldn't blame those that downloaded it because scammers can make fake things look real or looks like a new version of the original. And secondly Google play store are doing their business just to promote anything that pay to be advertised. They are doing business too, it is your duty to check review of a site you are downloading, to see people's review if it's Good or not. Play store will not do everything for you because they are doing business. They might not be fully aware of some fake site except they become obvious. Just do your Best by trying to do some investigation.

I guess they still wait reports from users in order to investigate and remove the scammers' accounts. People who see this need to report the situation to Google, so they can take action against the scammers. That shouldn't take long, though, considering AI mechanisms are efficient these days to spot such impersonators on the internet using big brands to promote their schemes.

The problem is that it's a recurrent problem, and even if one of them is taken down, another dozen will appear. Therefore, it's important that users remain vigilant, always attentive to the apps they are downloading, signing up and accessing on their devices.

You can never tell. These scammers target newbies because they are the most clueless people who can easily fall victim. Some of these newbies do not even know that some top casinos operate from sites and browsers. The logo with Vardi studio ranked top and gets the attention of many, that was the one I chose, and never worried about checking the review before downloading, but the Vardi Studio shown under the app, got me at first, but had to check it out, that was after uninstalling the app that I had to check the review, then saw the complaints of victims who have deposited funds already. Google should take action when an app has multiple users who already laid negative reviews, more people is falling for this con artists, which isn't great for the App store anymore.

Most people have this mentality that any app seen on Google Play Store is the authentic app, but sometimes in reality, the reverse are usually the case, most especially in this case of fake Stake casino which you just saw. And sometimes, you can't blame people who fall victim to this fake casino, and most especially newbies who might not have known how the real Stake casino really looks like. Because I'm sure that are still lots of newbies out there who doesn't know how stake casino looks like. And in a situation like this, I think the best option would have been for all of use here to have gone to Google Play Store and report that fake Stake casino, so that it can be deleted from the Store. Because if we do not do it with immediate effects, more people will still fall victim to this scam.

This is the part the Play Store needs to work on. It is crazy how someone can upload the same app but through a different agency. Like most apps in the Play Store are literally cloned apps, and nothing has been done to resolve these intentional errors. I think the Play Store is more concered on the profit they make than what their users download.

Personal research is very important. I personally do check out a site I need to download from play store online, before going to the play store to actually download it. I don't play with logo identity and although reviews can be misleading, some comments from experience is just too good to be true.
I prefer using a platform extension on a web browser most times because it's easy to be private and not be at the mercy of scam sites, but if I must use the app, I sure as hell do my research before downloading the app and again before funding it I use very little amounts of funds to test if the withdrawal and said bonuses are really reasonable and legit, before funding it for real bets, and further sharing a rating review on the site.

The name and the logo alon is enough especially if there's announced post that there isa mobile alp or the link provided on the official site shows different from the one on screenshots.

Google still shows it due to not enough people reported it, so if you think  an app is fake on app store or play store, so please make a report complaint, even saying just "fake app" instead of giving reviews is a huge help of the future users who will stumble on the same app.

Most people don't pay attention when they download things. I myself, most of the time when I download something, I just open the app and start using it. After a while, I only realize many things. This has become a bad habit I have, and unfortunately, it's difficult for me to break. Probably if I had downloaded this app, I wouldn't have discovered it wasn't for Stake; I would only have found out after trying to log into my account because it wouldn't accept my login. What magic? Fake is fake. Even without that logo, some people will still fall for it because of the name. The logo is just to convince people like you that you’re on a real -fake site.

Google doesn’t care about you losing money. Apps go through verification, yet it was approved to stay. Let’s even assume it didn’t have any “scam” intentions at the beginning, the app was clean before it eventually pushed an update to scam. What about the reviews? No one reported the app directly? I’m sure someone would have done that, yet it’s still sitting there and raking in Victims funds steadily .

Download directly from the official site. There’s no way a service would have an app without mentioning it on their site. If it doesn’t, then don’t trust such a service.

The angle I want to come at this at is a critique of app stores. They used to be a place where one trust that the apps there have been vetted and are safe. However, right now with the many stories that I have read on similar experiences, it seems they just approve any app that requests to be uploaded to their store. They really need to start doing their jobs by weeding out these scam apps, they must take responsibility for it.

Actually, I think this problem is caused by making the approval of new apps more decentralized, especially in the case of Google Play Store, I think the importance of manual approval would have been greater here. I don't know how they actually approve apps, if they had to do it manually, or if these scammers didn't get the opportunity, they would have gotten less. Because scammers only want to find the nuances of the terms so that they can use them to get their apps approved.

Then what I want to say here is that for gambling I think it is better to use the website than to use apps, and if we face any issue while accessing the website then it is better to pause it. Because in the case of casinos I don't think mobile apps and their interface can give us any advantage.

Why? Best targets for scammers are ignorant, greedy and not tech-savvy people. With combination like that, they don't even have to put an effort to make it look real, and they can do these kind of attempts, new apps and new sites several time more then they could with real effort.

Thing with real effort scam is that tech-savvy people would see trough that anyway, and for dumb and ignorant it doesn't really matter if it's a high or low quality scam.

I am sure that app will be removed after enough people report the add, but this isn't really a new problem. Google had a huge problem while back with fake clone sites buying ads and showing above real sites as paid advertisements. They also had a huge problem with scam ads. I am fairly sure that using of AI has made new set of problems for them, as anyone can manufacture fake apps with countless fake users using proxys.

True, I think in this case if a new person chooses this platform to play just because stake casino is in the top ranking of google then it would be very difficult for the op to understand the platform as fake and in most cases they would not be able to identify it.

Because if we talk about the op then he has joined stake casino's signature campaign and at the same time he may have been gambling on Stake for a long time. But one question always arises in my mind about Google Playstore responsibility. But ultimately, if we check the terms and conditions, we will see that the entire blame falls on the user because they were not aware.

What Google care about is not you or people, all Google care about is their business and money. That is the reason you will noticed that they do not have rules to make sure scam like this will not exist. People should be the one to help themselves with knowledge about how they can stay away from bad people because Google, X, Meta and other big platforms do not care.

It doesn't need to be from the forum. Now imagine watching Everton live match, saw Stake.com on their jersey, fully aware it is a gambling company and decided to try out the casino, I originally can't tell how the interface looks like, whether it is the real or fake one, I can't tell because I'm new. For someone like you who has been in the forum and used the platform before, can easily detect pirated apps even at a first glance, that is how you came to know it was the wrong download.
