With all the loses and addiction surrounding gambling, someone without confidence cannot start gambling because it takes a bold and confidence mind to continue gambling after seeing how gambling works although confidence in our games will lead to loss most time but in some cases confidence matters a lot

Technically you don't really need to be super confident to start gambling unless you want to start gambling with huge amounts of money. As a beginner you can actually start off with small stakes and even though you end up losing it won't bother you that much because it is an amount of money that you can afford to lose. What people need to be concerned about the most is the addiction that comes with it.

In my opinion, confidence in gambling isn't measured by the percentages but rather by knowing what kind of confidence you have. Confidence in gambling typically falls into two types. The first is responsible confidence stemming from the ability to control emotions, a strategy, discipline and a capital that ready to be lost. Too much confidence developed expectations, and when that expectation did not happen then the desire to keep on pushing will overcome your emotions, it's good to have that confidence to trust your analysis and research but believing that it will guarantee you a win, that's a trap inside your mindset it will lead you to keep on betting even you already losing a lot, giving you a impression that in your next pick you'll be able to recover, but most of the time it just lead you to lose even more.

I was thinking basically about how we discuss the behaviors of gamblers how they lost a huge sum of money or how they kept on playing without considering the side effects of their actions and the it struck my mind that they must have something in their minds that would trigger them to make those decisions and then I realized that it's "Confidence".
The reason why we treat some bets differently from other isn't because we just want to loss big or expose ourselves to too much risk, it's a matter of confidence that we have toward something( the odds, desperation of the team, players available....) and most of our gambling decisions is based on some level of confidence, if it's something you're unsure of you are likely going to skip the game at the selection stage before it gets to your bet or place small stake on the bet.

In my opinion, I believe confidence works in two ways, it can either be a gamblers biggest strength or their weakness as far as gambling is concerned. When the confidence is well regulated, it can help gamblers make decisions, but the moment it becomes too much, gamblers can be easily pushed into taking unnecessary risks. That’s the point where some gamblers start to think that their skills and analysis alone are enough to guarantee them a win, and even when they lose on the process, they still trust their skills to help them recover the lost funds, and as far as we know, this only gets gamblers deeper and deeper into losses and possible addiction.

It is true that this confidence is certainly good, but if in terms of gambling too much confidence can be a trap that will make us harm ourselves, now someone who is too confident will be able to continue gambling even though he has experienced successive defeats, this is what is feared because excessive confidence can encourage players to not be able to stop.

It's good that we can limit our self-confidence that must be maintained, so confidence is not a problem in gambling but don't overdo it either because yes it can be the axis of trouble.
