[PROPOSAL] Private P2P Crypto<->Fiat Telegram Group (Vetted Bitcointalk Members)

Hi everyone,

We all know how difficult it has become to trade crypto for fiat and vice versa via P2P. Finding a reliable platform that does not require KYC is nearly impossible these days. Even if you manage to find one you are ultimately trading blindly. You have no idea who you are dealing with on the other side. This creates a massive risk of receiving funds tied to criminal activities which can quickly get your crypto blacklisted or your bank accounts frozen.

To try to solve this I am thinking about setting up a private P2P Telegram group exclusively for Bitcointalk users.

How it will work:

• Strict Vetting: Members will be manually screened and vetted one by one based on their Bitcointalk forum reputation.
• Zero Tolerance: New accounts, users with low merit and anyone with negative trust will be strictly excluded to maintain safety.
• Direct Trading: Once inside, trusted members can post buy/sell advertisements and trade directly with each other.

How to join:

If you are interested in joining this private group please send me a PM. If we get enough interest from high-reputation members, I will launch the group and send out the invitation links.

Later on I will edit this post to outline the exact template and format you should use when posting your trade ads inside the Telegram group.

I don't think I got your point well. Are you planning to create a telegram private channel reserved only to exchange deals between reputed forum members? Or is it free to use for any user but only reputed for users can be among the sellers list to post ads?

If it is a private channel only for forum profiles, I don't think the idea will succeed because forum members can communicate through forum pm or through services ANN threads in the "currency exchange" board. However the idea can be a success if only trusted sellers are listed based on their forum reputation, so that users can send first for small amounts and the channel admin (should be a reputed member as well) can act as an escrow agent for bigger amounts.

Op, If you plan to orchestrate the initiative, you have to build a strong good reputation before, or look for a partnership with a well known reputed forum member to help moderate the channel. Otherwise, nobody can trust you with a penny.

Seems like you're misunderstanding the concept. I don't need to gain trust as I won't be involved in swaps between people and neither will I financially benefit from it. At the end of the day someone else can run it too as it's not about myself. The Telegram group in the post that you linked is about providing escrow services, airdrops and bounties but there are no people looking for swap partners.

Ok well please elaborate again the concept in exact you are referring to in this topic. Don't forget to precise who will create the platform and who will be the admin and who will moderate it. If you know a similar platform, please paste the link here. We, as bitcointalk targeted community, would like to discuss the concept with you the initiator.

About reputation, yes it rises doubts when someone inactive for six years appears suddenly and suggest an exchange channel in telegram. No offense but this is a cautious doubt.

About the escrow service Bptrades, I don't think your idea is better. This doesn't prevent you from proving the opposite. You can see I am the only one replying in your thread.

We won't have as many traders as offering trades directly through this forum, especially since some reputable users don't have dedicated trading services and don't use Telegram. Typically, you can post offers in the marketplace sections⁽¹⁾⁽²⁾ with certain eligibility requirements. Privacy matters will be addressed via PM.
