Another thing is ego. For someone who is used to being right in life accepting repeated losses feels uncomfortable.

That is an interesting point, because sometimes ego can be misunderstood as intelligence, or lead someone to think they are more capable than they really are on the present time. An inflated ego easily lead people to bad decisions, which make them look foolish on people around's eyes.

Ego can easily push someone beyond his or her limit, you become too proud to accept lost and by this you push further for revenge or chasing of lose which can cause you more lost. However, abstaining further at that point in time doesn't make you less of yourself rather it make you healthier and safed in the system. Thus If really we are wise enough just as most of us has always claimed then we should do well to take away ego from our gambling activities if we don't want to learn by experience.

Especially the rich people who were born rich or inherited their wealth. They become even more arrogant and out-of-touch with reality than even their rich parents, who teach them to be arrogant.

But I do not think smart people have an edge in gambling. If anything, they will tend to overestimate or delude themselves into thinking that they do indeed have some sort of "magical" edge which will let them win.

Too many people in this world need to touch grass.

Rich people aren't always smart, because wealth can come from an inheritance. Such a gambler might understand nothing about betting, yet still believe they can succeed simply because they've decided to get lucky. Of course, most rich people have achieved success in business and may mistakenly believe they can achieve similar success in betting. I think this resembles a trap in which such gamblers are a pleasant bonus for gambling business owners, as overconfident gamblers often leave large sums of money at such establishments and try to win them back at any cost, only realizing the consequences the next morning.

Gambling don't need some kind of strategy or anything, you are already powerless when it's about gambling, why not enjoy your game and accept what happen? I feel more comfortable gambling without expecting to win something in return and I just burn what I can afford to burn and when I win it becomes a surprise, I don't want to be smarty about gambling, it doesn't make me feel better, it makes me want to make the wrong decisions.

It is quite difficult to believe people who play just for fun without any hope of reward, as we know that winning will give real happiness to the gambling we do and every win there must be a prize that increases especially if you get a max win, so denying this is certainly in my opinion not in harmony with yourself.
 
In casino games, intelligence is useless, no matter how well you calculate, you will not find how to invite luck in every round, but in sports betting or poker, the probability can be seen even though there is no guarantee, good calculation always gets a better probability.

Those who are intelligent are not necessarily wise in gambling. Managing bets is not just about being able to make a profit, but gamblers can also manage their losses. Gamblers must know the limits of the gambling they do, and that is not determined by whether you are intelligent or not. Experience is an important factor in managing gambling well.

A lot of intelligent people try to understand gambling like a system. They track results and change strategies if the old one does not works and blame themselves that if they think a bit harder they can get better control over the outcome.

So when losses happens smart peoples often do not accept it as just randomness. Instead they try to fix it or recover it using another plan. That is where chasing starts without even realizing it.

I like this two parts of your post. They think they are intelligent, look for means to win money on the gambling site, make some strategies, losing money, look for another strategies, continuing loosing money, risk tolerance increases, continuing losing money, addiction begins. If it got to the stage of addiction, that is no more an intelligence, but foolishness of making money loss tolerance to be increasing

Some gambler believe that they are too wise and they can outsmart gambling sites with different strategies, but painful truth in gambling, is that gambling does not guarantee, steady profit or steady winning, if you try one strategy today and try another new one tomorrow. you will definitely loss.  Once you are desperate to recover all your losses, you’re risking your finance. At the moment, the person is no longer gambling for fun or entertainment. Addiction in gambling is a very dangerous habit it can destroy a person’s relationship with people and peace of mind.  So, it’s advisable to apply wisdom and when you notice something doesn’t work for you it’s better you take a break before it controls your life.

Every person can make a mistake at any time and there is no confirm that the person will not make a mistake just because he is intelligent. I think gambling is mainly for entertainment, gambling with the mindset of getting rich quick using a small amount of money in the hope of making a large amount of money is never the right mentality. There is no confirm of winning in gambling by using research or strategy. If an intelligent person is overconfident in his strategy or research and keeps gambling with that mentality, then no matter how intelligent he is, he will face financial losses as a result he will keep betting repeatedly to recover the lost money, then he will gradually become addicted to gambling. So even an intelligent person can become addicted to gambling at any time.

From another perspective, if they were intelligent, shouldn't they be trapped in actions that could harm them, like most gamblers? That's because they're intelligent, which means they're different from other, more foolish gamblers who often make the same mistakes.

So, in my opinion, it's not a question of intelligence, but rather whether they can take responsibility for the losses they experience. If we're talking about intelligence, then they should already understand that losing is part of the game and shouldn't chase losses.

Quite true, the problem people think the is a system, or some kind of algorithm that needs to be cracked, but before they know it they are burried deep into gambling and now have to chase their losses which unfortunately only a few manage to win back.

Btw, gambling has nothing to do with intelligence, sometimes just some proper analytical skills should save you and watching of games to understand the sport and it's rules should leave you in a good place.

Gambling is primary decided on chance and even smart people have bad luck.
You can pick someone with the highest iq and there's still a good possibility they will lose in the long run with gambling.

This is the reason why gambling is not for everyone. OP makes sense, especially the part about intelligent people treating gambling like a problem that can be solved instead of a risk, because we all know gambling involves luck, so even if you are smart, you still sometimes rely on luck.
For me, the real danger begins when confidence slowly makes you feel like you're more in control than you actually are.

Gambling was in fact supposed to be for the smart people because they should be aware about its risk. But then, gambling should be taken easily or to not complicate things. So a not-so-smart person that is innocent is still welcome to it. Their happiness is more genuine and it is so good seeing them smile or enjoy when the game is favouring at them. They also know how to secure some or most of these winnings. They can have less expectation though than the other. And then they can get contented easily.

Being intelligent does not also mean a problem solver but a problem solver can be a specific type, like a person who has a skilled on some jobs. But it is often known that intelligent people are prone to getting crazy (for real). Risk in gambling is not a problem after all but that is only the way it's designed. That makes the game interesting for the player and profitable for the owner. But a player can also profit if they get lucky.
