It is really funny to think that Harvard already had a solid footing on Bitcoin and ETH then they converted part of it to an ETH ETF and eventually sold it at a huge loss.  Are these people experimenting with their funds?  Those realized losses on selling ETH ETF could have been a good fund to strengthen their holdings on the BTC ETF, but such poor planning and fund execution.

...

Yeah, it is more likely they are hyped with all the news around the ETH ETF, but I wonder what they saw in the ETH economy that made them decide to exit the market.

I guess they were disappointed with ETH's results. I mean, the cryptocurrency has failed to retain a new ATH in market prices. It was close to $5k a while ago, only to take a step backwards. At the time of this writing, ETH is sitting below $2k. BTC yields far better results. Although, it's also getting affected by the bearish sentiment on the crypto market.

Harvard is not alone in its decision. Other institutions and/or companies are doing the same. They're "dumping" ETH, and moving to BTC instead. Things are getting tough for the world's second-largest crypto by market cap. Unless Vitalik and team come up with something that would "blow" away investors' minds, don't expect demand (and price) to increase anytime soon. We'll see what happens....

Ethereum foundation and vitalik is I dont know they seems didnt really made eth good, I mean ETH still a good altcoin, but in the couple year ETH is still stuck wheter the price nor the progress.

I guess you havent really been following the development of ETH, and most people are the same. Most people focus only on price, so if it is not going up, they assume ETH is standing still.
In 2025, Eth introduced the Pectra upgrade to improve scalability, staking, and network efficiency. Following that was Fusaka in late 2025, and this year Eth has 2 more major upgrades lined up: glamsterdam and Heze-Bogota.

The price may be stagnant, but the Eth ecosystem never stops developing.

Well that is a good news but dont you think that gonna kill ETH Layer 2 itself and gonna hurt lot of dApps and other in the future, second this isnt me bro this HARVARD that have dozen of financial professor they have tought everything and yes if you were the manager in some kind of investment you should care about the price dont you think?

I mean if you are maximalist that would fine by me short term dump isnt really hurting, but if you investor and using like this case endowment money then you should care about the price right?

"Harvard University's endowment fund fully liquidated its $87 million Ethereum ETF position due to a combination of heavy financial losses, internal turmoil within the Ethereum Foundation, and strict institutional risk management guidelines"

The change in holdings follows a turbulent year for ETH, which has fallen by over 50% from the all-time high of nearly $5,000 reached in August 2025, and several high-profile departures at the Ethereum Foundation (EF), the organization that oversees the ecosystem. - https://www.binance.com/en/square/post/325674273591634

There are crap and meaningless upgrades. There are countless other shitcoins that provide better L1 capability at the same level of centralization that ETH does. ETH is a useless piece of shit relic that does not provide anything at all. It is neither hard money and decentralized like Bitcoin, nor does it provide high L1 capability such as newer chains like Solana. It is stuck in between and offers nothing at all, and no amount of upgrades can fix that. They have centralized the chain and rolled back transactions, so the ship towards being Bitcoin has sailed long ago. As for the second part, it is a badly designed shitcoin so no amount of tweaking can improve its performance to that of its newer competitors at the same level of centralization.

The same retards that sold you on centralized L2 solutions are now developing "upgrades" through which most of those same L2 solutions will be killed, and some idiots here are buying it up all over again. Meanwhile all the people that were behind running many of those useless projects have taken away many billions from normal people while selling them various lies regarding to said solutions. Roll Eyes It is understandable that Harvard dumped ETH because it is a terrible shitcoin, the most useless piece of shitcoin worse than Dogecoin. No amount of new buzzwords, wishful thinking or first mover advantage with smart contracts will change that fact. The only surprise is that it took them so long to realize this and instead they actually bought into the lies behind the shitcoin.
