Happy Bitcoin Pizza Day!

Enjoy the celebration and eat a slice of pizza! 🍕🎉

Laszlo was an early Bitcoin miner. He invented GPU mining and mined over 100,000 BTC.

His purchase of two pizzas was (to our knowledge) the first purchase made with Bitcoin.

Lazlo says he has no regrets about spending 10,000 BTC on those two pizzas.

He says

Quote
“I think it’s great to be a part of the early history of Bitcoin like this,”

This wasn't the only time he bought pizza with Bitcoin. He estimates that in 2010 he spent 100,000 BTC on pizza.

He said,

Quote
“I wanted to do the pizza thing because to me it was like getting a free pizza” and “I got the pizza for contributing to an open-source project. Usually hobbies waste time and money, but in this case my hobby bought me dinner.”

While many mourn Lazlo, he is proud that he and his family will be remembered forever!

The man, Jeremy Sturdivant, used 10,000 BTC to cover the cost of a trip to the United States with his girlfriend.

He said

Quote
"I had no idea it would become this big,"

But despite being deprived of infinite wealth, Sturdivant says, “I am proud to be a part of this global event.”

I have a lot of respect for this man.

Those two pizzas were the beginning of Bitcoin's journey to change the world.

What are your thoughts on this? 🤨

If you were in Laszlo’s position in 2010, would you spend 10,000 BTC on pizza? Why?

Was Laszlo truly losing money, or helping Bitcoin adoption?

Of course, he regrets ever paying 10,000 Bitcoin for a pizza. No person will see the price of Bitcoin and not regret paying so much for a pizza, the claim of no regret is false, deep down watching Bitcoin cost $70K, taking into account that 10,000 Bitcoin was paid for pizza.

His purchase of two pizzas was (to our knowledge) the first purchase made with Bitcoin.
He made history for Bitcoin but he actually purchased more than two pizzas and spent more than 10,000 BTC for his pizza purchases.

If this information is new with you and make you surprised, if you want to get more details about it, let's read.
Did Laszlo Hanyecz exchange 40000 BTC for 8 pizzas, not 10000 BTC for 2 pizzas?
More big transactions from this address that used to buy pizzas.

Hanyecz talked about his pizzas - bitcoins purchases in an interview.
Quote
To Hanyecz, who told Bitcoin Magazine that he spent something near 100,000 BTC on pizza that year, the purchase was just another drop in the bucket.

“We would just give people bitcoin on the forum,” he said — sometimes 100, sometimes 1,000 BTC at a time.

Yes let's join to accept that lazlo bitcoin pizza was the most expensive, but looking at the value as at them mean that it may not actually be the most expensive because bitcoin was nothing compared to what it is today, it's interesting aspect of all these is that we all still have something to deliberate about his pizza purchase back then before things got to this extent where we are today.

Pizza's are delicious and BTC was just coding numbers back then, people could get them easily by mining, I also respect the pizza seller who accept btc as payment. Well if i could mine 10k btc a day I would also used it for something like this.
