Lol! Seriously? Connecting stuff like this to BTC is just silly and nonsensical frankly speaking. Literally anyone with a half decent brain knows for a fact that this entire useless war is primarily because of ego clashes which resulted in oil warfare.

US underestimated Iran severely and got spanked on the international stage. BTC is actually helping both those countries in several critical ways.
Lol, OP must have been thinking a lot to come up with this kind of idea about Bitcoin and the war. With this kind of mindset, we should be expecting Bitcoin to become the major trigger for World War 3 Grin.

I also think it is a silly idea to connect Bitcoin to something as unrelated as the recent war. We all know what caused the war, so it is really insane trying to force Bitcoin into the situation.

All of this are caused by physical matters, there is nothing to do with a digital currency like Bitcoin. Even Bitcoin is quit valuable now, not all countries are very serious to make it as their reserves. We have only few countries that make it as an important part of their reserves.
Even the price of Bitcoin dropped due to the war that occurred, it made the global economic conditions not good and affected the Global economy so that it impacted all sectors.

And indeed only a few countries make Bitcoin truly their Reserve, but some large institutions have made many purchases that are already long-term investments.
If Bitcoin is considered to be the cause of the war, then it is a mistake to think and not understand how Bitcoin works.

With the way government of all states are trying so hard to secure the Bitcoin and reserve policy especially the Trump government,  its possible that Bitcoin could be one o the reason why the war especially the recent ones are holding up.
No, Bitcoin is not the reason for the war. In fact, I see BTC as a powerful solution in bringing people together due to how it creates strong bonds between users around the world, despite the color differences
Remember, a lot of wars have taken place before BTC creation, and for every war that has happened so far, it was either driven by security fears, political power, history, ideology, NATO’s role, nuclear power rules, or everything I stated put together.
The same thing is what triggered the Ukraine and Russian government conflict, which is yet to end as we speak.

Being realistic here I don't think so, the war has nothing to do with Bitcoin instead there are many political things that have been happening for a very long time now that all just seems to blow up right now and this is causing tension between the world powers. Iran and the US with Israel are fighting because of things that are greater than Bitcoin although I see that Bitcoin is aiding Iran in collecting fees from the streets of Hormuz and this is causing the US a lot of tension since they have no way to attack the blockchain technology that Bitcoin is using that makes everything decentralised and avoid being controlled by a central body. But I still think Iran would have found a way of taking a fee in another currency that is not Bitcoin if Bitcoin was not in existence but they're making use of Bitcoin just proof that Bitcoin is a decentralised currency that does not need the approval of any centralised government for it to operate and that is a win for the decentralised world.

I am not in support in of any of the countries fighting because I don't believe in war but Bitcoin should not be the one to be punished because of the ongoing world instead of that, their differences should be brought on the table and things get settles as they should be.

Admittedly, war can trigger panic in global financial markets, leading to a sell-off of risky assets, including Bitcoin. However, I believe that considering Bitcoin as a trigger for war is a mistake. War can burden the global economy, resulting in soaring inflation and disruption of supply chains in various sectors. Decentralized Bitcoin is in no way tied to any particular institution such as a central bank or the fiscal policy of a money-printing country, so logically, it cannot possibly cause war. Rather than being a primary cause of war or crisis during wartime, Bitcoin's position is increasingly solidified as an alternative hedge against inflation caused by money printing during wartime.

When you say Bitcoin is the cause of war, it's a mistake to think, because Bitcoin won't cause war, but there are many external factors that make war always happen.
Bitcoin became a fairly good and stable hedge digital currency when war broke out and recovered quickly.
Bitcoin is decentralized and will not be affected and completely manipulated by anyone, some of the manipulations carried out will only be temporary.

Now Bitcoin is even an option to make transactions in a state of war so that it is not easy to track and it is more difficult to trace with the Bitcoin mixer platform.

Wars have been existing even before Bitcoin was created, and if you check history you find out that so many of those wars happened just because of resources control, human decisions, political power and not even because of digital currency and so many of us actually turn to Bitcoin during conflict or wars just because it allows fast transaction and gives us another option when banks fail.

You must be high on wine haha, as per your name. Because I checked the other topics you have created and you have only created topics like someone who is brain dead and they all are useless. You should stop creating such topics which help no one instead, they are spamming.

Anyway I saw this thread the day you created and was not hopping it to be around this long haha, anyway if moderators have not moved it already or deleted that means they must have a cause. So you should not that bitcoin can't be the reason of this war beriod.

Absolutely correct. War has absolutely nothing to do with Bitcoin as wars occur due to the reasons you mentioned. It's just that many investors often exploit price fluctuations caused by wars making it seem as if Bitcoin is the cause, even though it has absolutely no connection. Especially considering the war between Iran and the US, where several rumors claimed that Bitcoin was required to transact through the Strait of Hormuz although Iran ultimately denied this.

What I mean is if a war breaks out Bitcoin is often exploited by both warring countries even for transactions or as a store of value due to Bitcoin advantage of decentralization. If the US uses Bitcoin as a national reserve it's not impossible that Iran would do the same although there's no official statement as Iran fiat currency is currently experiencing severe inflation. Essentially, wars don't happen because Bitcoin is a tool, not a cause.

Bitcoin has even become the digital currency chosen for distribution, donations and the like, Bitcoin is the best among official currencies.
And this war is indeed happening because Politics is completely open because of Bitcoin.
Then we see in the past that Bitcoin really replaced Fiat currency quite well without being affected as in the Pandemic and any emergency,
Bitcoin became a currency that was resistant to all kinds of disruptions ranging from wars, pandemics and others.

I can't connect Bitcoin to be the reason of the war.
If there will be a reason for Bitcoin to get involved in a war, it might be about the mining difficulty.
And any violence that's related it might be concluded that there's a war and that's because of Bitcoin.
But I think we're thinking too much about it that relates all of the things that are with war to Bitcoin.
It can be used to fund wars but to relate it as the startle, I don't think so.

I would say no.  If anything, this war could potentially lead to the new bull run taking into account inflation, debt, and the bond market incurring big time sell offs.  I'm sure this war is and will have folks considering alternative assets with strong track records, i.e., Bitcoin.

I think what OP is asking is whether Bitcoin could ever become important enough that nations would be willing to go to war over it. In the same way they have manufactured conflicts just to seize oil, mineral or territory. He did not mean to suggest that bitcoin would be the direct cause of any war
Since he never sated a certain time period, we can assume whether he means the recent time or the time in the future.
Bitcoin isn't a physical commodity, it can't be like oil or other resources. Even if a country falls into the hand of another country, Bitcoin cannot be automatically seized because it is a digital asset. They can simply delete/remove the data to access it. So, the country who wins the war to get nothing if their goal is for Bitcoin.

Even the price of Bitcoin dropped due to the war that occurred, it made the global economic conditions not good and affected the Global economy so that it impacted all sectors.
In fact, the global economic condition which influences the Bitcoin price. Meanwhile the Bitcoin price seems not really bring impact to Bitcoin price.

And indeed only a few countries make Bitcoin truly their Reserve, but some large institutions have made many purchases that are already long-term investments.
Yep, some big institutions have joined Bitcoin investment. This triggers more parties to have Bitcoin as well, it is including few countries.

Fiat currencies are more legal than Bitcoin and Bitcoin has yet accepted legally and has yet been legal tender globally. Bitcoin is open source, and its network is decentralized so that people can freely run Bitcoin nodes, have Bitcoin non custodial wallets and completely self control their Bitcoin private keys and bitcoins, but to use bitcoin legally, it depends on existing regulations on Bitcoin in their nations.

It can be used to fund wars but to relate it as the startle, I don't think so.

At the end of the day, Bitcoin is just money, an asset with value and how people choose to use it depend entirely on them. Bitcoin itself has no control over that. Therefore, even if it is used to fund war or by criminal. That is a problem of people and their behavior, not Bitcoin fault.

Moreover, even if a war were to break out over Bitcoin, it would still only be a matter of human greed and human behavior.

Like the wars over oil and resources, we cannot blame those resources. The primary cause is the greed of politicians.

I don't know what made you think that way, but I think it's a wrong idea. I don't think the United States, China, or any other country would wage wars over Bitcoin, neither to own it nor to prevent others from owning it or to ban it.

If the United States, for example, is seeking to acquire Bitcoin, why would it do so by force through war and incur billions of dollars in costs when it could simply buy it or mine it or obtain it in other ways such as confiscating Bitcoin used in money laundering.. etc.

With the way government of all states are trying so hard to secure the Bitcoin and reserve policy especially the Trump government,  its possible that Bitcoin could be one o the reason why the war especially the recent ones are holding up.

I guess you might overthink too much because bitcoin is not a resources like oils that they need to protect and create a power for the economic resources. Its just a coin for privacy so people have the rights if you wanted to make a transaction as being private and can see public without trace. So there is no chance that they will grab the bitcoin as a primary role for resources its jus a tool and adaptation.

I don't think so, because the cause of the war is a dispute over resources, territorial sovereignty, and political power. I don't see how any of these include BTC since anyone can mine BTC.
BTC can be used to buy weapons to fund wars, but that does not mean it is one of the causes of the war.

I don’t really get where the OP grab his conclusion about this particular topic, it’s very naive to assume that Bitcoin would be the cause of any war…not in this generation though. Everyone knows wars are as a result of resources dispute, geopolitical reasons and many more hidden motives.

Quote from: BitMaxz
Based on the news, the cause of the war is due to "nuclear and ballistic missile programs" US just went to war with Iran to stop this. So Bitcoin is not connected.

I like how you stated this sentence with the phrase “Based on the news” because I believe there’s more to this than just the initial known reason for it….but I wouldn’t delve deeper into what I don’t understand much about.

I think there are topics that... are a matter of free will; people say what they want, and a good Samaritan tries to tell them, "I think you're confused." I was going to continue with that idea, but your username caught my attention, since maybe you could get OP's answer if you use your "Hypnotizer" Wink

In any case, to be O_T, OP, the simple answer is no.

Could Bitcoin be the cause of war? Probably. Especially when quantum computing is used to crack unclaimed or abandoned BTC wallets.

For now, the US is still leading the quantum computing race since the big players are based in the US. Imagine if that happens, other countries involving BTC in their strategic reserves could treat it as a threat.

For example, the US cracks an abandoned wallet from a BTC user who is from Russia, and Russia claims only they are allowed to secure and claim this abandoned wallet. That's just my wild dumb example and speculation Cheesy

But the thing that's real is cyber war involving hackers trying to hack BTC wallets and use the BTC to fund military, weapons, and nuclear programs. It already happened. Lazarus Group is a well-known hacker group operating on behalf of North Korea. So, does this count as Bitcoin being the reason for war? Because I think it does, indirectly.

With the way government of all states are trying so hard to secure the Bitcoin and reserve policy especially the Trump government,  its possible that Bitcoin could be one o the reason why the war especially the recent ones are holding up.

You have a lot to learn then, Bitcoin is opened to everyone on crypto exchanges to buy, it doesn't matter if you are from Ukraine or Netherlands, or in the Amazon deep forest, if you have the money and internet connection you can buy Bitcoin, countries don't go to war with other countries with things that's made available for everyone.

If you can read history you will see that resources of a country is why wars are initiated, some powerful people will want the resources for their own greedy self and they will start funding instability in the country, causing problems and wars, since everyone can buy Bitcoin as digital asset then it can't be compared to resources, if your point is correct stocks should be causing wars as well.
