This is very wrong approach to do because one of them could be greedy of having the lion share among both of them, but if there a concrete agreement that binds both of them such as a legal agreement between both of them then they can share it according to how it was previously agreed between both of them.

In your agreement everything should be stated there to avoid future issues which could result to problems. You've just said my mind, it is not bad at all if two parties decides to venture into an investment together but reaching a written agreement is the best way to avoid any problems tomorrow because humans are unpredictable and no matter how friendly or related anyone is to you, do not trust them completely because a day will come when they will breach that trust but when there a documents to back up your agreement will such person, if they try to do otherwise you will have an evidence to present to any lawful jurisdiction. At first am not finding something like this making sense in anyway so I don't think it's possible. You talk sense. Partnership no be bad thing, but e need clear understanding from day one. If two or more people wan put money together, transparency and agreement na the main thing. If na equal contribution, profit fit be equal too, but if person money pass, make everything dey arranged according to contribution to avoid hidden resentment or greed later.

I agree. Greed don scatter many friendships and partnerships. If they had an agreement from the beginning, changing the rules because profits are getting bigger is where the problem starts. Yes, even if the understanding or purpose of both parties is the same at the beginning, if the amount of profit increases or decreases as a result of the investment greed or emotion can arise between the two people and this is where the main problem arises. It is true that it is not right to invest jointly based on word of mouth alone. We must decide on the purpose of the investment how much profit will be it is not right to decide on a single opinion we must decide based on the consent of all members whether it is good or bad everyone must accept it etc. It is very important to write down various other things as a result the possibility of problems arising through joint investment is less.

Well based on what the OP said that the guy who brought the idea is also the owner of the account used for the transaction and also invest about 50% each. Looking at the condition of things the guy that came up with the idea and introduce it to his friend wants to us this avenue to extort him to get more gain as a compensation from his friend.

I nodey like advice people to gather money do investment even if say the dividends fit dey higher than when you do am alone. Omo just focus and do it on your own for your peace and sanity.

If you must do business with someone make sure there’s a signed legal agreement detailing every aspect down to how the profits will be shared and all the determining factors.
