But if we want to talk about trading, then here of course it does not depend on luck, but here you have to achieve success based on your own skills research and the right strategy at the right time. Not everything is easy here, market research is a very difficult subject, and where market research requires time and deep thought and decision making, there is very little chance of people getting addicted. However, if after a few losses people close their eyes and start taking trades on emotion without any research, then the matter is different.
However, there are cases where trading is more dangerous than gambling. Gamblers, at least know that the outcomes are purely based on luck. But many new traders wrongly think that charting along with some indicators makes them extremely talented. If an individual increases his trades continuously in order to earn back his losses, then he behaves like a gambler.

Trading is not more dangerous than gambling, but yeah, trading addiction is way more dangerous than gambling addiction. That's something a lot of folks just don't get.

Because a trader rarely sees himself as a gambler. They think they are investing, analyzing the market and trying to make money . Even  when they keep taking losses ,  they convince themselves it's just part of trading and that they're doing the right thing.

It is true that without a proper strategy, good money management skills, and control over emotions, crypto trading has very less difference from gambling at the casino. People always find it difficult to accept their dependence, although it is just a legitimate practice with very high risk.

It's simple, addiction is all about losing control of your behavior and emotions.  That's exactly why anything can get you hooked, not just gambling and trading.

Trading addiction is a complex issue. Executing trades without a specific strategy, analysis, and risk management is essentially no different from gambling. Addiction takes hold when an individual trades based solely on emotion or excitement rather than analysis. Attempting to immediately recoup losses driven by an inability to cope with the psychological stress of a setback is extremely risky. It creates a vicious cycle trading impulsively out of anger after a loss, suffering further losses, and then placing even larger trades. This pattern drives traders toward bankruptcy and deepens the addiction.
As a trader when we start having the mindset of trading without any analysis, strategies or risk management then basically we are relying on luck and not our strategies anymore and that means we are just gambling and not trading anymore because that the way gambling works. And when we start trading without no risk management nor strategies at all then we can easily lose a lot and the mindset of recovering our losses will always be there and gradually we will fall into trading addiction.
We will just keep chasing after the losses and not weigh our risk and the negativity that might comes with trading without analysis.

Yes bro You are right if a person is doing trading he should be well disciplined think calmly not addicted to it because every thing which u become addict to it will destroy you. When a person loss some trade so he become very angry and instead of thinking calmly he take the loss personally and start taking big risks without any proper strategy. I think every trader should set some strict rules for himself. You need to change how you think and if trading is controlling his life he should stop and leave and take some break from it.

This is the biggest mistake people make, whether it is trading or gambling, they forget to take a break after a loss or a profit. It is not at all advisable to forget to take a break, the person who trades without following the strategy will face additional risks or losses. Every trader should follow these things, then it will be possible to stay away from the symptoms of addiction. Money control and taking a break should be the two things that should be paid the most attention to, if you follow these two things, it will be possible to stay away from the symptoms.

I don't want to completely confuse gambling with trading. If a gambler loses in a gamble, he loses the entire amount of funds he used, but a trader is not likely to lose the entire amount of funds. In gambling, it is necessary to take a break after winning or losing because a gambler can feel excessive excitement and is more likely to make wrong decisions at that time.

A trader's capital is at risk if he is under pressure to sell at a loss. You mentioned the need for traders to take breaks, but I think a trader should continue to buy regularly if he has a discretionary income stream. It is better to stop selling when the market price falls or not to sell at a loss. By buying regularly and building up holdings, you can make high profits when the price rises in the future.

I don't agree with you that trading addiction is said to be more dangerous than gambling addiction, because both have financial losses and psychological distress.

And both have fundamental differences. Trading should be done based on analysis, risk management and understanding of the assets being traded.
While gambling in general depends on luck.

As trading becomes addictive, the distinction becomes more and more unclear.
A person may no longer open a position based on the analysis, but rather due to an emotional urge, a desire to return a loss or an inability to control the transaction.

So I think the issue is no longer just whether trading is more dangerous than gambling, but when one can stop making rational decisions and start being controlled by their lust to continue making those risky decisions.
