All hackers are scammers but not all scammers are hackers.

So if someone's computer was hacked, his wallet compromised and his bitcoin stolen. That means the person has been scammed? That is absolutely not correct.

If someone has been scammed, the scammer tricked the victim to send money to him (the scammer).

My post is not about a matter of argument, it is about how scam and hack are different just like how trading and gambling are different.

I think I do agree with all points made on this particular discussion, a scammer can still have the skills of a hacker and introduce his scamming capabilities as at where necessary while also using his technical hacking skills to penetrate into areas he seems not to having his scamming ability working out as expected.

So while the two are different in explanation, the character can be possessed altogether by one individual. While on the contrary which is true too that, "not all scammers are hackers".

Let's say for short an unknown person online is asking you to Send 0.1 BTC and I’ll send you 1 BTC back" now that what we call a scam here….or any customer service asking you to send your seed phrase those are the ones on the table.

As for a hack, let's say prison technical break-in without your knowledge or consent, such as in planned malware that was planned on your phone to collect your seed phrase…when people mixed up these two together, thinking "I’m too smart to be scammed" is how people get scammed.

People mix them up because they think I'm too smart to get scammed and assume all thefts are technical hacks. The truth is that most successful attacks happen because the victim got tricked and gave access away themselves.

Both scam and hack chase after same goal,their goal is to steal their victim’s money just that they both of them present themselves in a different way.A scammer would lure you with deceptive tactics just to sell your fund and mind you this process is also known by their victim while a hacker wouldn’t trick you instead they would penetrate into your wallet without your consent with the primary aim of stealing your login credentials or your money.That is why technical knowledge isn’t only enough to protect your fund,most times you just have to use your common sense because how on earth most people can’t sense suspicious behavior from a total stranger they met on the internet.As for me I don’t hesitate in blocking those people that impersonate influencers with the primary purpose of scamming you.

It is good that you know that one is more technical than the other, but many people can use scam for both. Another difference is that a hacker can hack and let the world know that he is the one that do the hack and make money from it. We have seen this many times that a hacker will hack and steal money and let the company know the vulnerability and be compensated after sending the money back. There are companies that are also hacking into other companies devices and telling them the vulnerabilities they found.

You are tying to explain the difference between scam and hack, I truly get your explanation, but I think they both have same meaning in terms of their actions. If you are being manipulated to send 0.1BTC for receive 1BTC as you brought as an example, you get scammed because you are greedy; while if your device is also infected with malware or phishing attack, the aim is to scam you through several means; if they succeed, you are also scammed; so they serve the same purpose.

Having technical knowledge is good, you can sense any suspicious attempt if you are also not greedy to ignore some signs because no matter how good the scammer can be, the idea and methods to use can be something you might have knowledge about, and if you can be very careful to have note it early, you can escape some scam attempts.
