I want her to understand how discussions work here, how to respect other members, how not to spam, and how to actually contribute something useful.
This is a very strange topic i must say. Well, the most important question is if your daughter has any interest in bitcoin, does she want to buy, spend, hold or trade bitcoin, or use it in any other way. If the answer to that question is yes, then you can basically tell her about bitcointalk, a discussion forum where she can discuss with other bitcoiners. She is 18, she will figure out everything else herself. Why does she need to respect anybody? She can be as rude as f**k, who cares. This is not a strange question because I have the same in mind, I have been feeling not so good and my health is wearing away, I don't know if I will survive this but my thoughts have been what will happen if I don't make it? So I think to myself, I have children, what if I hand over my forum account to one of my kids? And at the same time I think you myself wouldn't it be better if they start as beginners themselves if they have interest in crypto? Because beginners are the vital stage where learning and learning is never too much, they will know even more if they start as a beginner, I want to know if this is possible too, I don't know that someone will ask a similar question like I have on mind.

As long as he enjoy and learn something in the forum without saying bad, or doing unethical to others then that is okay, you should also teach your child not to over react on things in the forum, and never look down on others because they are newbie or even treat others like lower to them, we are all the same here, we come to learn things about crypto, also to know others not much but to be able to interact to people exchange opinion learn from them, just tell your child never be rude even if others is rude.

Sorry to hear about your health and hope you get better. But i don't think someone with a deteriorating health would be worried about a forum account, that should prolly be the last thing on your mind. I mean, who considers a forum account to be an "inheritance". I know, if something did happen to you, then maybe someone from your family could use your account to update the forum about it, but that should be all. I consider the OP's question to be strange, because as far as i am concerned, you do not really need to teach an adult what to do in a discussion forum. If they are interested in crypto, just show them the forum and that's all, nothing to lose sleep over.

It’s a good thing for you to introduce your kid to this forum. but before you will do that, you need to first introduce your child to bitcoin. It’s only when she accept to invest on bitcoin or see bitcoin as something that is interesting then you can introduce her to the forum but if she doesn’t see bitcoin as something interesting then there’s no point introducing her to the forum, I wanted to introduce my brother into this forum because I know this forum will be helpful to him but since he told me he was not interested in bitcoin or crypto I then left him. Bitcoin is for everyone but not everyone finds it interesting to learn. So if she shows interest to learn, you can teach her.

Well, it should start first on the question if she is willing to learn and has patience and determination to keep going in the forum. Because starting is very easy but staying in this forum for months, years or even a decade, not everyone who enters this forum get to stay that long. It takes high courage and commitment to make a full blast from this forum, not just to learn but also earn in the process.
However, you can really tell from watching your child grows if she can be a potential asset in the forum.

Op, if you are still following this topic, I will advise you to; 1. Introduce her to some certain boards like bitcoin discussion, beginners and help, technical help and development. This will help her. Since earning is not the first idea, avoid gambling board else she could become a gambler.
2. How do you want her to respect everyone in the forum. Teach her respect at home and for people he meets in person. People here do not value respect so much. They look the way of freedom.
3. Take out time to periodically check her post history if she is deviating or improving.

--- Now I have a kid, she is already 18 years old and mature enough to start learning things on her own. I want to introduce her to this forum, not just for earning, but mainly for learning. I want her to understand how discussions work here, how to respect other members, how not to spam, and how to actually contribute something useful.
Of course, if there is an opportunity to earn later on then maybe she can also grab it, but I do not want her to come here with that mindset first. I do not want her to become one of those users who only post for campaigns or rewards without really learning anything. My problem is, I am not very good at teaching. I know the value of this forum because I experienced it myself, but explaining it properly to my kid is another thing.
So I want to ask some advice from older members here. How would you introduce btt to your son or daughter?
You said that you've been here in the forum long enough to know what should a newbie be doing here. Just for context, I'm not good at teaching as well, and I also have communication problems since I have a stutter, but if there's somebody here that will approach me and tell to me that they want to use this forum as a place for learning, I think I can teach them, and I can because I have the experience, and that experience will help me teach that person in a better way. You know how the forum works. You can just guide your child on what are the do's and don'ts on this forum. Also, I know that the forum is very helpful for newbies, but I will not disregard watching documentaries on YouTube as well as their main source of information. There are LOTS and LOTS of videos online where they will teach you the basics of cryptocurrency. How would I introduce it? I'm thinking about it, and I think the first thing to do is to give him some links where they will learn something about cryptocurrency. Of course, I'll be the one that will be compiling it, but I'll choose the most useful threads where a newbie will learn something from it. Next step? I don't know, but that's how I will introduce it to them.

Honestly, children today are very reluctant to read and are quite used to using video content for the learning process they want, and this is the same with my child. If your child is reluctant to read, introducing this forum to them might be a bit more difficult because there's nothing that will interest them, especially if you don't want them to enter this forum with a mindset of making money. But if their interest is low, it's impossible to educate children to engage in this forum because it's more discussion-oriented, so they need to get used to reading first. It might be worth taking a different approach by learning to understand investing to build financial freedom and it should also be combined with other learning opportunities that will engage them. This forum could be a first step for them to learn about Bitcoin, although we know that if they're not inclined to read, it might be a bit more difficult to introduce them.

You did not mention that you have introduced your daughter into Bitcoin, and if you have not done that that is the first thing you need to do, introduce her to Bitcoin and if she is interested in Bitcoin then you can further introduce her to this forum. But if you have already introduce her to Bitcoin and she's interested in Bitcoin and she is also interested in knowing more about Bitcoin then introduce her to the forum tell her she is going to know more about Bitcoin and the benefit in the forum, when you introduce her to the forum make sure you tell her the rules and regulation of the forum and the importance of keeping a good reputation in the forum.
for me, it should be first things first, before I introduce anybody to this forum being it my wife, my daughter or my son, the first thing I will do is to first introduce them to bitcoin itself because if they find it very difficult to understand the bitcoin or have no interest in bitcoin then the forum may not hold much value for them. So my first assignment with them will be helping them understand the basics which includes what bitcoin is, why people use bitcoin how the wallets work and the importance of security and personal responsibility, then I will open up the financial advantages and benefits that comes with investing in bitcoin, if I’m able to build the interest by so doing, which should also build a curiosity in them, then I will tell them about this forum and bring them into it with the intention to learn the rudiments in bitcoin knowledge and get involved in the conversations that shaped what we have today as a bitcoin ecosystem.

Personally, I wouldn’t wait for my child to have an interest in the forum before I start teaching them about the forum, however most especially bitcoin, because while they’re here it will also give them more leverage and opportunity to learn more about the forum and things that are happening in the future entirely.
I don’t really think there is anything wrong if you want to teach your son or daughter about the forum, they don’t even have to ask before you start teaching them, because it gives a different perspective of knowledge entirely, they can end up becoming guru when they start learning things about bitcoin forum at a very young age.

I mean, who considers a forum account to be an "inheritance". I know, if something did happen to you, then maybe someone from your family could use your account to update the forum about it, but that should be all. There was a time when someone claimed that her father transferred his bitcointalk account to her as inheritance. She spoke of how she cherished the account and wanted to continue. But she couldn't cope because the culture and discussions were strange. I guess she abandoned the account and disappeared. Transferring account is like giving your child your educational certificate. The best way to enjoy and contribute to the forum is to start from the beginning. I consider the OP's question to be strange, because as far as i am concerned, you do not really need to teach an adult what to do in a discussion forum. If they are interested in crypto, just show them the forum and that's all, nothing to lose sleep over.
Maybe such person might also need some lessons and encouragement. The forum don't look too attractive and this might discourage some young folks who are used to flashy platforms. The forum might also look complex that newbies might need some help.

Interest should be paramount when introducing somebody to this forum so firstly you have to understand whether your daughter is into cryptocurrency, if she's not you have to discuss about it with her to know if she will be interested to join. It will be helpful if you tell her about the benefits of being a member of this community, she can learn very fast from experienced members about the crypto market and technology, also that she can earn from signature campaigns if she is able to rank up.
Why I'm perticular about interest is that it's not everybody that created accounts in this forum that are still here today, some have moved on for various reasons. All of us that are still here are due to different interests, some are for the interactions with anonymous individuals, learning and discussing cryptocurrency, updating about gambling, politics and society, earning, so it is due to one interest or another. If nothing captures someone's interest in a place they will be uncomfortable and leave.

You don't need special skills to educate your child about Bitcoin, just like you have learnt from the forum and maybe someone probably introduced you to the forum or you get to find out yourself and I'm sure before then you already had the zeal towards engaging in cryptocurrencies which made it easier for you to adept. Now what I'm trying to say is; before you introduced your child to the forum ensure you also make the existence of cryptocurrencies known to your ward by giving an overview regarding some basic things and terminologies, lastly introduce the forum and explain how it works, so they can easily connect the dots and understand why majority of the discussions here are about cryptocurrencies (Bitcoin).
