And yes, unfortunately last year we did experience a compromise on our website, as many platforms have to deal with at some point. Our team handled it professionally and minimized the negative impact.
Any casino or service provider can get hacked, so there is nothing to be ashamed of. However, could you clarify what you mean by "minimizing the negative impact"? That can range from simply apologising and saying "sorry" to fully compensating the affected users aside ftom publicly apologising.
Can you also tell us more about your odds provider and the powers or authority they have here? Because if they can limit users or confiscate their funds then your claims about being private and offering decentralized betting don’t really make any sense.
They didn't compensate ANYONE of course.
Simply admitted the obvious breech of their security and thats it.
People lost big balances because of their incompetence and got drained for reasons beyond them and never got anything back for it.
In that case, this isn't the professional approach the OP is talking about. As you can see, the project survived, but perhaps precisely because it didn't return lost user funds.
Losing the domain and allowing access to user wallets to be compromised is a terrible failure of security.
I've never heard of any major casino or sportsbook making such a mistake.
Calling the failure to return users money a professional handling of the case is impudent even in this situation.
