Zcash crashes 48% after Claude's AI finds critical vulnerability

I also did not invest in Zcash, because I sold it in November last year and even then it was only a little I just sighed seeing my best friend suffered a big loss in this coin, the threat will be more and more as the AI's capabilities increase.
But on the other hand this warns all projects in the crypto space, it would be great if all of them upgrade their flaws and in the future no project will be arbitrary so that security will definitely be improved from any aspect.

But we should make it clear that the vulnerability was not exploited. The vulnerability was found by zcash with the help of Taylor Hornby a security engineer.

How can anyone say that the vulnerability was not exploited. Is it possible for anyone to cryptographically prove that no one has exploited them. You cannot simply decrypt the Orchard pool to count the coins. As per the reports this critical flaw was unnoticed for 4 years.

This case is not about upgrading the flaws. It was an issue of omission within the logic rules which is the most important part. Since the error did not produce a syntax errors, it took 4 years to identify.

It's funny how everyone outside crypto are now skeptical about crypto because of that Zcash incident. But they forgot that it is only that way because most crypto systems are open sourced and that was why that researcher was able to run Claude Opus 4.8 on the entire codebase to uncover the bug. There are thousands of tradfi systems that currently handle 10x to 200x more activity than Zcash but we currently can't test how secure they are because those systems are closed.

Well, at least it now means project teams can use the same technology to better secure their projects and maybe we'd have less hacks in crypto moving forward.

The researcher just stated that he is going to run his AI audit to Monero next.

Honestly after the Zcash critical vulnerability, probably tons of people are already running their AI agent against Monero's code to find another critical vulnerability which means this going to result in nothing.
But I'm still curious if Monero is safer or not. This could determine which one is safer to use and hold against the other in term of privacy coins.

The funny thing is, since you can't exactly check, since it's a privacy one, you can't be sure if it has bene going on for the past years or not, it may have bene, it may not, we do not know. And then there are people out there who support privacy coins for some reason, like they are on the FBI watch list.

I have no reason to invest into any privacy coin, for me it makes no sense because it is not providing me with any support at all, we should not be really shocked to see that people like me stay away from it and this is a good reason why it is , we should not be really shocked at it and we should be considering how this is something that would be very good that we are dealing with at the end.
