In what way can gambling be called entertainment?

When you fan a team, like in sports, even without having to gamble, you would come under a lot of pressure when your team is being attacked by the opposition and some enlightenment when you are attacking the opposition, getting an equalizer or winning. These have a way to affect and change your mood.

Same thing happens in gambling, when you’ve got your money out there and have to follow the games, you would experience this shift in your mood too.
Casino games also have a way of being entertaining, they come with some sounds, some have got this arcade feel about them and you have that adrenaline rush about them, especially when your money is staked in a bet.

You get entertained regardless of winning or loosing except, you gambled what you can’t afford to lose.

Honestly I will say that whether gambling is an entertainment or kit it all depends on the mindset of the person that is involved, because if someone goes into gambling with money that they can afford to lose and funds enjoyment in the game, be it a win or loss, it can be an entertainment to them. The issue or problem all started when winning becomes the main goal and every loss begins to feel like something that must be recovered. When that happens, the focus has been shifted from just having fun to chase or go after money, and it can lead to harmful decisions.

Yeah, that’s how the gambling goes it all about mindset and that’s why most people’s call the gambling entertainment, but what make some lose in gambling is that some are not using the amount they can afford lose and it happen most when their winning. The fact that something is for entertainment, simply means that one's priority shouldn't be on whether that activity is fetching money or it isn't... Gambling can only be considered entertainment when a gambler approaches it with the proper mindset that it's paid entertainment with some risks associated with it, if have winning expectation because it's a game of chance, not an investment or income source, and should be treated with limits.
I believe it is similar to visiting an amusement park, where you spend money to experience excitement, social interaction, and emotional spikes.

To me gambling is entertainment only when people mentally assume from the beginning that they can lose this money. Just like when someone goes to see a movie they don't expect to get their ticket money back. But the problem with gambling is that there is a possibility of winning and that hope often changes the mindset.  So I think that if someone can remain calm even after losing and doesn't run after recovering the loss, then it is still entertainment. Surely, gambling can be called entertainment, but only when you treat the money spent on it the same way you would treat money spent on a movie ticket or a football match ticket. For example if I use $10 to place a few bets during the weekend and enjoy watching the matches, then I can see it as entertainment whether I win or lose. The excitement and fun are what I paid for. The problem starts when someone is no longer gambling for fun but is depending on it to make money. Once you start chasing losses, feeling angry after every losing bet or expecting gambling to pay your bills, it stops being entertainment and becomes a financial and emotional burden.

Gambling for fun/entertainment can invariably be seen as gambling with what you can always afford to lose, because inasmuch as you are not emotionally attached to whatever the outcome of the game will be, and just ready to accept whatever comes with it, you are indeed gambling for fun/entertainment. However, the entertainment aspect of gambling can not only be judged when you are making profits while placing a bet, but can be realized when it's helping you to stop getting bored and having fun on the table while gambling, despite if making profits or having some loses while gambling. Because moreover, the very category of people who gambles to have fun are the rich people, who won't mind spending alot of money on the table just to spend time with either family or friends while at the casino. Whereas the poor and average class of gamblers will always gamble for the money, simply because they don't have the money, and when they loses, they get upset. So you need to understand that gambling for fun is not for everybody, but it is for those who have the money and are ready and willing to risk it for the moment.

This is the key, gamble with no expectation and if you win any money then it is going to bring you the happiness that you are looking for. But that stops when someone is involved in gambling too much and they start treating it as some kind of income even though it is not necessary for their survival or anything.

As I said, gamble with whatever money you are willing to lose and just assume every bet will end up as loss then only it will be enjoyable moment when you win something.

The fun in gambling is that you can actually gain money from the money you use in cashing the fun in the first place, but if you spend such money going to see a movie, you get entertainment but with zero chance pf getting any money at all, winnings to me I the extra real fun in gambling, when I gamble and I win, I feel more statistfied than when I gamble and lose no matter how small the amount that I lose is, although gambling is entertainment on its own.

Yes ofcourse it can still be called an entertainment regardless of the losses,but it all depends on the individual.Majority of gamblers are just reward minded when they aren’t winning as regular as they thought they would be winning they will quit gambling while a few gamblers that aren’t focused on the rewards of winning still consider gambling as an entertainment regardless of the losses.Aside losing,don’t they feel entertained whenever they are playing their favorite game in a casino?because that’s exactly where the fun and entertainment comes from.If you’re enjoying being entertained by playing your favorite games or placing some bets that’s how I consider the term “entertainment” in regards to gambling.

Gambling can be called an entertainment in many ways as long as we see it in such a direction, the problem is with the gamblers when they find it difficult to understand why gambling should be treated as an entertainment, but the moment they understand everything that is required of us to do or know concerning gambling, everything falls in place for us,  and we are not going to be disappointed by any gambling experience we had.

Entertainment through gambling depends entirely on the mindset of a gambler because the mindset of the gambler can increase the entertainment of gambling. If a gambler starts gambling with the mindset of making quick money from the beginning, then it will never take the form of entertainment. You may consider yourself a compulsive gambler or a professional gambler, even though you may never see gambling listed as a profession. When you cannot enjoy gambling, whether you win or lose, you may not consider yourself a gambler, but rather a compulsive gambler who sees gambling as a means of making money and who tries his best to recover the money he loses.

When you can spend money on gambling without any expectations and without expecting anything in return, then you can use gambling as a means of entertainment. As long as you see gambling as a means of making money or have little expectation from gambling, you cannot consider gambling as a means of entertainment in any way.

If gambling is seen as entertainment, which means gamblers should even be happy when they are loosing, because anything entertainment is full of fun, and amusement. There are actually people who gamble for entertainment, and these set of people don't gamble all the time, and don't take gambling as their main source of income. You don't chase losses, and regret loosing your bet, and you still call gambling entertainment, you don't call gambling entertainment when you gamble daily, and loose money on daily bases.

 Some of pay money to watch football or other form of sports, we don't do this to gain any reward, but to entertain ourselves, and also ease ourselves from stress, but when you loose bet, and some stress are imposed on you, it is not longer an entertainment.

Because when we talk about entertainment, it comes with joy and fun, and not being devastated or frustrated after experiencing a loss. I think when we enjoy the gambling whether in sportsbetting or being in casino games and we enjoy the game we are doing without thinking about gains and losses then it can be considered as entertainment.

But keep in mind that entertainment is temporary and not demanding, when we already feel this is too demanding even we continue to force gambling when we lose and spend all our money then its nature is not towards entertainment anymore but it has become different from the original purpose and we can even become addicts if this condition continues.
