From the title, I first want to disagree with the impression of growing of account, it sounds ridiculous because we are not here to compete or ranks or ensure we achieve a particular ranking up by all means,
Maybe you are not, but OP most likely is.

My guess is that he heard stories hows easy it is to rank up and make money here, but obviously it isn't as easy as he thought. Which says a lot about him, since nowadays even shitposters don't have much problem reaching higher ranks.

That's true, it is so disappointing to see that some members are bringing in people to this forum with a wrong impression onto them, some will even think every garbage day presented as post should be merit deserving post, one thing this forum has taught me is to never see myself as the most knowledgeable or perfect person in whatever I presented to the community when it comes to ideas and contributions made, while in so doing, what may look like nonsense in my own eyes by what I posted might be what another person will definitely see as a quality post, this is why the poster does not judge for quality, but those that come across the post being made will determine how impactful or thoughtful is the content of what is being made, it is a pity that many newbies don't understand all this procedures as a necessity.

This account was registered in February this year, and by June, he is already talking about how difficult it is to grow his account. Barely five months. With posts like this, filled with spelling errors and lacking direction, are they worth any merits?

OP needs to forget about merits for now and focus more on improving his writing skills. He should contribute quality, constructive posts to the forum, and his account will grow naturally. OP has no case against the merit system; he himself is the problem. He can exit the forum if he feels that the merit system is delaying his account growth unjustly.

I found growing on Bitcoin Talk actually very entertaining.  It was never a difficulty for me as I was always enthusiastic and the people who spent Merits on me made me excited to be part of the community, to learn more and to share more.  I understand it may feel more difficult if you are completely new and know no thing about Bitcoin, but that is particularly the point.  Members should grow and share their knowledge in a some what relation to the level they are at.  If you stagnate in the 'I do not know any thing about Bitcoin' level, you are probably going to suck at getting Merits too.

But I believe most people get the idea of 'sharing knowledge' the wrong way and think they have to write 10 separate Topics about the definition of Bitcoin, how to differentiate Bitcoin from Altcoins, why Bitcoin is decentralized et cetera.  Sharing your knowledge means simply sharing it when necessary.  In the same way you do not hear about a construction worker telling you the definition of a brick and the difference between bricks and stones but they may give you their opinion on where the brick may be rather placed based on own work experience.

Long story short.  Merits grow with you or keep you low at the bottom of the ocean if you do not grow at all.

Very nicely said, I agree with you.
Many of us, who have been members of this forum for 10 years or more, have not only learned a lot about btc on this forum all these years, but also become part of a very active community, made friends over the years, met some of them in person, etc.
When you are an active member of such a community and have regular and quality interaction with other community members, of course it is not difficult to get the merits and other benefits of active participation in this forum.
The only members who have a problem with merits and advancement on the forum are those who do not have the patience for it, who want to get everything right away and now, without effort and investment of their time, learning, etc.

Why should newbies grow their accounts so quickly when they don't know much about this forum? op Your curiosity may be aroused by looking at the signature campaigns. Due to the merit system, each account has a different value. The more knowledge one has, the better one can post, the higher the position of his account is. If there was no merit system, this difference would not have existed. Spam posts would have been lost, which would have ruined the beauty of the forum. So the merit system creates a fair balance for everyone knowledge.

And seeing that this type of thread is coming from a new bie it makes me to think that you may be in a hurry. What we should know is that this forum is an educational platform where we are expected to learn and also contribute to the body of knowledge, just like the conventional school system by creating threads and commenting so it's not in the place of the newbie to tell if the content that he is creating on the forum is worth getting merit or not. Just continue to post the merit will come eventually.

You got it wrong too though.  You are not EXPECTED to learn nor is Bitcoin Talk an 'educational platform'.  I do not mind if someone appears unable to learn or understand more as I never have this expectation unless we repeat the same information to them a hundred times and they still do not get it.  This is not a school system, you can only view it that way if you also look after a final 'graduation' which is probably being able to join the best paid signature campaigns.

If there are referrals in his region who are supposedly responsible for those they invite, then it's understandable why many people perceive the forum as some kind of educational venue. These are probably people who were still schoolchildren yesterday, and today they are "overwhelmed" by adulthood, where they have to "contribute" with their "useful" posts in order to receive a salary from the forum in the future. Many of them consider the forum to be a place to earn money. However, gambling and casinos are perceived by them as the place from where they will one day get rich.

Perhaps if it weren't for those referrals saying that you can get a certain amount of money here, then people wouldn't have started studying bitcoin, but here they are obliged, however, as in school, to make their "contribution" and, moreover, not to sleep at night, as it was once written, in order to develop their own 10 accounts.

Check his initial posts. How many true newbies, from the very first day, go to the sections where the counter for future signature companies usually starts and open topics?
