Paxful contacted me about recovering a 4-year-old unsupported network deposit, requested my wallet address, then went silent

Hello everyone,

I am posting to see whether anyone else has experienced something similar recently with Paxful.

Several years ago, I accidentally sent a significant amount of USDC to a Paxful-controlled wallet using an unsupported network. At the time, Paxful only supported a different network for that asset. I contacted support repeatedly over the years and was consistently told that recovery was not possible.

Recently, I was unexpectedly contacted by Paxful Support through their official support system. They informed me that they were now able to recover the previously inaccessible funds and requested a destination wallet address so the funds could be returned.

I promptly provided the requested wallet address.

Shortly afterward, I received confirmation that my information had been received and that the case was under review. However, since then, several weeks have passed with no further updates despite multiple follow-up emails.

What makes this particularly confusing is that I can see on-chain evidence that assets from previously inaccessible addresses appear to have been consolidated into a wallet that seems to be under Paxful’s control. However, there has been no communication regarding when recoveries will be processed or whether anyone has actually received a refund.

I am not making any accusations at this stage. I am simply trying to determine whether:

* Anyone else has recently been contacted by Paxful regarding recovery of unsupported-network deposits;
* Anyone was asked to provide a wallet address for a refund;
* Anyone has successfully received recovered funds;
* Anyone is currently waiting for an update after providing a wallet address.

If you have experienced something similar, I would appreciate hearing about your timeline and outcome.

For privacy reasons, I am not posting transaction hashes, wallet addresses, account information, or exact amounts publicly at this time.

Thank you.

You might want to post this on the Service Discussion board too, not the altcoin one. Who knows, maybe someone make similar mistake with other coins, including Bitcoin. That being said, have you double checked whether the notifications really comes from their official emails? We've seen a mail hijacking attacks in recent years, even popular business got hijacked and their official mail providers sent scam links.

Worst case scenario, waiting is the only option since they probably don't want to process tx individually. Kinda weird that they started to do this now though.

I am certain the email came from them, as I also checked chain activities and see they have consolidate all the lost token across multiple chains into one wallet and also the mail came from their official support email.

Thank you for suggesting the Service discussion board. I will post it there also.

The better you to check Paxful's website directly, here. They're in the process to shutdown their service, and they're doing refund to the all of members who have the balance that can be accessed by them.

However, if you have not yet fulfill the form given by them, and verifiy your identity with them. So just be careful with it. It's because all of affected users have to fulfilled the form, anf verify to receive their refund.

Just head to Paxful site, then try to conclude it by yourself. All of FAQs are also available there too.

The time line also matters a lot.
1. How long ago did they contact you regarding the refund?
2. How long ago where the funds moved into another address that seems to be under their control

I guess you don't have much option but to wait for a response from them. The fact that they contacted you regarding the refund after that long means that they could actually get your funds back. Maybe they want to process the payments in batches.

They moved the funds on the 16th of April 2026 and they contacted me on the 12th of May 2026, so is now approximately one month since they reached out for my wallet.
But the main issue is they are not communicating and no update at all.

I understand the concern, especially when they are not communicating, but at this moment, everything is in their hands. Maybe they have a big backlog of messages to respond to or refunds to process, so you could probably give them a couple more weeks for any more action.

As irritating as it is I think you can only wait. If they're really trying to send your funds back, I imagine the backlog of building a database or list on where to send the money itself will take a long time. And even if they never send it to you there's little we can do here. I'm sure they could argue why they're not obligated to do this or whatever if people drag it to court, and delay it as long as they can.
