It's likely that everyone has made financial mistakes that they've been guilty of, which makes them think that they've made financial mistakes and need to fix them. One of the things that I think about is financial mistakes such as spending money very easily without considering it first, this can be seen from today's children, Gen-Z. They tend to spend money easily without considering it first, as long as the things they will do can make them happy then they dare to spend money easily.

One of them is from most of the current cases that occur in my neighborhood, many young people are dying to do things that are not supposed to get what they want, such as the latest cellphone. Not a few of them force themselves to have the latest cellphone by borrowing money or making purchases in installments, because to buy it directly they are not quite able to although there are some who consistently save from their income and buy what they want.

When talking about bitcoin I think most will also remain the same when initially doubts arise due to lack of understanding and are still quite unfamiliar making us make mistakes but in this case experience can be the best teacher we can have so that over time those who originally did not believe in bitcoin even when they were already in bitcoin they will definitely feel a change in mindset about bitcoin and that I have experienced.

That actually depends on your main influences in life. I'm merely a little older than an average Gen Z individual, but I'm not like of the many people around me who want the latest gadgets thanks to my grandfather. I work in his antique shop since I was a little boy, and our moments together were mostly spend talking about politics, investments and, financial matters.

As for me, one of my biggest financial mistakes was not having an exit strategy. I bought Bitcoin during a bull market and watched my investment grow far beyond what I initially expected. Instead of taking some profits along the way, I kept holding because I believed the price would continue rising. Then the market turned. Bitcoin fell sharply, and fear took over. Rather than sticking to a plan, I sold after a major drop and locked in a significant loss. Months later, the market recovered and continued climbing, but I was already out.

I learned that investing without a clear strategy can be just as dangerous as not investing at all. Greed kept me from taking profits, and fear pushed me to sell at the wrong time.

Looking at how the market is dropping lately, it kind of reminded me of this.

What's the biggest financial mistake you've ever made, and what lesson did it teach you?

I think all the experienced crypto traders on this forum have gone through the same path you described. None of them expected crypto to grow so dramatically. I remember vividly how I invested in altcoins for the first time and woke up the next morning to see they'd gained 70 percent in price. It was an incredible bull run, and we'd never seen anything like it before. All the skeptics immediately saw it as a place where euphoria reigned and big money was being made. It was a rocket that was moving so fast that no one considered the need to withdraw money. And what options did we have? Stablecoins hadn't been created yet.

Financial mistakes sometimes start with our spending habits. If we constantly spend beyond our means just to keep up with trends or impress others, it becomes much harder to build wealth or take advantage of investment opportunities later on.

I also agree that many people initially doubt Bitcoin because it's something new and not everyone understands it right away.

During a strong bull market, it's easy to believe that the momentum will continue indefinitely. When you see your portfolio gaining 50%, 70%, or even more in a short period, taking profits is often the last thing on your mind because everyone expects even higher prices.

You also make a good point about the early days of crypto. The ecosystem was very different back then. There were fewer tools available, and without widely used stablecoins, taking profits wasn't as straightforward as it is today. That probably influenced many investors' decisions.

Not taking care of my mental health pretty much messed up my road to financial independency. Because if i would have been healthier, it would mean i had a better financial situation when i started cryptos, so i wouldn't been in such a hurry to use majority of gains to living expenses. Majority of the bags that i had crashed, but i sold ETH for example in $14 per eth and in $200 per eth purely because i needed money.

Some of those sells really hurt at the time, but i got over them. Some of them paid out that i managed to sell early.

To me honest, i it's still hard for me to see early choices as mistakes, because i was only using tools had and i did a good work considering that. I would be way worse of financially choosing something i considered at the time, and i think that i made ton of right choices that i need to remember instead of kicking myself for wrong ones.
Mental or physical health is something that matters the most. End of the day, it doesn't really matter if we made millions if we are not healthy. Mental health is really very important because I have seen people losing their mind and not even being able to identify their loved ones. That is what causes the most pain. Money is nothing if compared to health.

We will always get opportunities to earn money but if our health is not in place, we have nothing much left. Instead of money, we should choose mental wellness. That is definitely something we don't think that much these days. I would prefer being poor but healthy instead of the other way. It is very well said - Health is Wealth. Wealth can be earned anytime but not health. We should primarily focus on ours and our family's health instead of chasing financial freedom.

Those were glorious days unlike now that we have more crypto users that want to become team to a project with fat allocation so they can have their dream houses. Those days when there are few projects, so there are plenty of traders and buyers that will be chasing the market, so much liquidity that can print 50% on a single green candle on daily chart, even shit coins hard their moment but no even the best coin doesn't have those moments again, many are dead.

I think the new scam is the tokens and stablecoin exploits, I have seen many reported exploits of stable coins since last month, it's even weekly report, the last one was one they called MIM, I came across it when the coin was down by 50%, and now it's looking like a ghost town. My only pity is to people that are buying this coins, if only everyone can ignore this coins, the market will be healthy and free from this shitcoins.

I won't call it your biggest mistake as long as you did not invest everything you had. The mistake you made is pretty common and almost everyone has been there some or the other time. You can always learn from such mistakes so you don't repeat them in future.

Even I made this mistake multiple times before I could learn how to imply a proper exit strategy. You will make way bigger mistakes than this but do not let that demotivate you. There are people out there who make the same mistake hundreds of times but learn how to avoid making that mistake at the 101th time. That is when they start making profits. In future, you would be much more careful after losing this chunk of money. I won't say you lost the money. You learned something which is really important. This knowledge will be quite useful for you in future.

What's the biggest financial mistake you've ever made, and what lesson did it teach you?
In my case the biggest mistake was not taking profits during the Ethereum bull run last year. At that time the price of ETH was at over $4500. I thought it might go up more, so I didn't sell. But the way the price started to fall since then was really disappointing.  Although I haven't sold my ETH yet. I believe that in the future when a good opportunity comes again, I will gradually take profits. However looking back I think I should have sold at least some of it during the bull run to secure a profit. That was my biggest financial mistake and I still regret that decision.

For me, I will say investing in a business that I don’t know anything about no research, just positive information, I invest on it and ended up losing big. I regret it, but still, I learned from it. It was a long time ago, but when I still remember, I feel disappointed in myself. Because if I had made my research and known the pros and cons of the industry, I wouldn’t have lost my money.

But I was very anxious to invest due to the positive benefits from it, and after investing, I became the example of the negative side. It was not an easy one then, but now it has become a story.

The best advice I will give people now is that no matter how you are sure in a business, don’t invest into it without knowing everything about it, both the profit, the losses, and even the chain of the business. If you understand that, it will be easy for you to manage any situation you find yourself, because you already know everything and you decided to invest. But whether physical or digital investment, just invest what you can afford to lose, advisably 20% of what you have.

There's no need to regret such decisions because with every Bitcoin price increase or every four-year halving, there's always a moment of price increase for most altcoins, especially altcoins like ETH. I've also felt disappointment and regret for not immediately selling Solana and BNB when their prices were high, so I also think about profit every time I see Solana and BNB in the market. But the feeling of taking advantage slowly began to fade as I began to remember the next cycle which was also a moment worth waiting for by many people.

Health and money in our lives are not rivals to each other. Even if we earn a lot of money, if we do not have good health, we will not be able to enjoy that money. A large part of it will be spent on our medical treatment. Enjoying money in a healthy and normal way and enjoying money in a happy and miserable way from being sick are not the same thing. To live a healthy life, money is needed, but it does not mean that we will run our whole life just after earning money without looking at our mental and physical health. Running only after money makes us feel that we have spent most of our life after earning money. Finally, we may not have the opportunity or time to enjoy that money. Therefore, as money is needed, good health is also needed. If neither of these is in balance, we cannot live a normal life.

Those who are selling at this point are bad investors and maybe first timers, they don't see the importance of this period that shall create them wealth in the next cycle. It's understandable that they're in panic for seeing all of a sudden drops that they can't take. Even I before, I'm that type of investor that usually panics when I don't like what I am seeing but they'll get to realize that it shouldn't create them fear and panic but, looking outside the box that when the world is in that fear, they should start to be greedy through DCA.
Selling Bitcoin that we originally intended to hold for the long term simply because we panicked at the sight of a market correction is a sign that they are still new to this field and lack experience from previous cycles. But once they experience the next cycle firsthand, they will begin to regret what they did during this period, selling the Bitcoin they owned instead of starting to accumulate it.

In fact, one of the best times to start accumulating is precisely when the market is gripped by fear and many are panicking and selling. We can observe this market sentiment and use it as an opportunity to enter the market and accumulate. But regarding DCA, with this strategy, we don’t even care whether the market is bearish or bullish because we’ll simply continue to focus on buying regularly without worrying about the current market price, our focus is on future potential.

Sometimes we are overconfident in crypto assets in this bullish season, it has become a common phenomenon among investors, especially since there are many narratives that say ETH will go to $6000 and even to $10k in the next cycle but the fact is that it doesn't touch at all, even in printing new ATH it is very difficult.

If you see such a situation in this scope, there are many mistakes that become regrets, such as selling too quickly or holding a coin for too long.

My mistake in finance is that I force my money in the crypto world completely, whether it is profit or loss I rotate it there, even though I should when I get a large profit divide it into many assets such as land, gold or even stocks as a safer form of diversification in investment, because when the price drops like now all the assets held have decreased significantly and when I want to cut loss I feel very sad if I do it.

I would say my biggest mistake is not paying Interest rather than earning It. .. fear of being scammed as well to lose money if you should invest on crypto, like having this kind of mindset that what if you purchase crypto in higher price and end up losing it at lower amount. This is to tell you that if you can risk it to invest without having full budgets of profiting just hoping for, you will benefit from it.

Sometime we need to lose or regret before we can understand things better, have invested in a platform with my funds thinking I can get double of my funds and later they scam me with it and have learn my lesson that we can’t achieve our goal so easily we can’t just put a lot of funds in business or investment thinking we can get huge back and we should always make research about anything we’re trying to do.  Sometime even others we know advance us to invest in what they are doing we need to do our personal research so that we can know if is real legit or not.

So even when they introduce me to bitcoin I start to think first before and come and accept it because anything that deal with online we need to be very careful but Bitcoin is always a popular coin that anyone that learn about it he will understand more and invest in it. They have others that don’t have any regrets because they have someone that face the problem and direct them to right path.

Many people are in regret because they did not Invest in cryptocurrency when its price was low and most of the people did not agree to take risk in cryptocurrency but after that they were in regret and they thought that they should invest in cryptocurrency but after that cryptocurrency price pump in the market and people take out their money and people are now in stress who lose their money without anything. People who are investing their money today they are earning but earning is very low as comparison to the people who got profit at the start when cryptocurrency was not famous all over the World but now every child and big person tries to invest for their child who are little at that time and they want to secure their future.

Actually, every person has some mistakes in their life for which they have to pay for their whole life. The mistakes you made are actually not being able to sell the investment at the right time and selling Bitcoin at a loss which is not a big mistake for me, but if you want to hear about the mistakes in my life, then I will say that I got a job in my life, my job was very good and I quit that job. Currently I miss that job so much, so I hope that quitting my job was the biggest mistake of my life, a mistake that I will never be able to correct.

Conclusively looking at the various comments and opinions of all, its clear that many are indirectly saying crypto investment stands as there greatest nightmare as they have lost massively on the process.
Although I won't blame any for been so open on his or her ugly experience on the process but  sincerely speaking,  I will say there is nothing wrong in investing in the crypto world, the only problem is how the investment is done and the goals looking up to for that specific investment.
Many get involved in crypto investment without properly understanding the working principles of crypto currency and may incur lost on the process,  therefore to avoid this investment should  not be done without understanding the working principles of cryptocurrency.

What's the biggest financial mistake you've ever made, and what lesson did it teach you?

My biggest financial mistake was trusting altcoins too much.  I failed to cash out because I believe a certain project to much, sure the project has huge potential and was very active that time, could have bagged a huge amount, when I was choosing between cashing out and holding for another year, there was a big announcement by the project so I decided to wait another year, forgetting that the market can be affected by the trend.  Sure, the bear trend hits the market, and that amount was reduced by more than 90% and did not recover. I should have chose to cash out but well, what happened happen and I learned my lesson really well, lol.

Sorry to hear this. I have also faced the same situation, and I think most of us have because greed was in all of us. But there are some people who are so disciplined about their investments that they quickly take the profit and exit the trade.

But this is not one of my biggest mistakes.

The mistakes I made were that I took profit early haha, and I did not manage emergency funds because I thought I could never set up enough funds for emergencies. Because of that, I sold my coins for anything, but in profit. I just needed a reason, and I wouldn't hesitate to sell. That was my problem in the early days, when I was supposed to book profits in parts instead of all at once. Then I learned my lesson, as you have!

Taking a loan at an early age just because I could. Yea that was my biggest financial mistake, because even till now the repo effect is still affecting me, not necessarily the money but the mental stress and emotional stress collecting the loan caused me. The lesson I learnt from that was patience, cause I now I understand you don't have to rush to take decisions even when it is looking very logical at the moment. I also learnt that something even when something looks logical enough, you have to still take you time before committing to it, cause I rushed and took a loan that if I had just waited a little longer I could have solved the issue without collecting the loan but at the moment everything was sounding logical to me.
