This man is one of a lucky kind and not the type which we talk about losing more than what you just won and not really being in any profit; we don't know how long he has been buying those tickets until that lucky winning day, but I'm pretty sure the money spent over time is not up to the $2 million which was just won; he's a lucky one.
Actually, sometimes it's just about the money coming in bulk that makes more sense and not necessarily the amount, of course the guy is evaluated to be in net profit since the winning is huge. Even if he's not in much net profit, the ticket has been able to organize $2M for him as a bulk, of which naturally he might not have been able to do so by himself and now he can use the money to achieve something noteworthy at once. The daily buys he sees it as a hobby, it doesn't remove anything from him, possibly it's what he can always afford to loose, but the jackpot rewards is not his regular kind of money, so he's very lucky. His consistency finally payed off.
