Like others have said on the thread, it’s best to confirm if it is a dust attack before sending the coins back to the sender address. Quick question - are there wallets that really have “remark space” for users to leave notes? I haven’t noticed this feature before, maybe it’s because it’s not something that would interest me.
If it's dust, it won't be worth to spend back to the sender.

Dust attack, the coin sent to the address is usually worth very little, very small that sending it back will cost closely the same amount of Bitcoin, Imagine refunding less than $0.7... worth of Bitcoin back, if not that transaction fee is now very cheap.

Two things is involved. It could be a mistake from someone or it could be a direct spamming on wallet so that they scam you when you try to send the USDT out of the wallet. I wont lie, I've fall for this scam attempt at my early days in crypto and it's a common thing scammers do to addresses that are exposed to them. First verify if the USDT is not fake before taking any action in the wallet that will cost you a fee.
In that case, avoiding the said USDT should be advised, to avoid being caught off guard by what you don't know about.

In my crypto wallet address, I have many coins I have no knowledge of how they came about in my crypto portfolio. They have stayed for free rent in there, and I haven't once thought of sending them out because I don't want in any way compromise my crypto wallet. What I will do next is to have them delete one day.

Sure leaving the USDT in the wallet address is the right thing to do but for how long? We'll if I was the one on that persons shoes holding the USDT in expectation for a owner to claim it would last for just 2 weeks because that is enough time for anyone whom I have previously done deal with to locate or identify that they sent their coins to me unknowingly to them, else I would assume that I have been gifted some USDT by an anonymous person. Talking about the USDT being fake or not I don't think USDT flashing can work on every wallet so how wouod the person know the wallet you're using and decides to use it against you, except that the person knows you.

Is there a way to trace a transaction that was being done from an unknown person address to someone wallet, why i asked is that i have a friend that received some worth of USDT in his wallet from an unknown address so i want to ask and hear multiple opinion on what he should do with the said USDT.
Is there any possibility of receiving a random mistaken bitcoin payment from a stranger? It is possible that the payment was done by someone who has his details and have it pinned maybe, and sent to the wrong address. The wallet address has so many numerous characters that it would be impossible to simply pick a guess like its an account number.

It is also best to make further enquiries on privacy attacks and the schemes employed so it does not become a case of loss. The amount involved should also be considered, it could be possible that a copy-cat USDT could be sent to you. In a case where you have a good number of USDT, you could possibly send out your real asset with a good heart and lose it all.
