All these things come out because there was a lot of corruption at FIFA before, and that leaves a bad taste in people's mouths. That's why they say, "Give a dog a bad name and hang him." People have already been bitten by a snake and don't believe things so easily. It's easier to believe the bad than the good, and "expect the worst and you'll be right."
I have friends who follow football much more than I do, and they say that refereeing corruption is blatant. It's not wrong to question FIFA; it's good that they're not comfortable and are on people's radar because it forces them to be more transparent. In a way, they're not stupid.
Aa a matter of fact the corruption is getting worse and worse. Gianni Infantino is the best guy to foster corruption ever and I am not saying that others before were not to blame like Blatter and others. But corruption has probably never been supported so much a president of the country hosting that World Cup. Nobody fully knows what Qatar did in 2022 and surely there was corruption too, but I read a few figures now how much money will be made in the U.S. and Mexico and it can only be guessed how much of that goes into private pockets at the cost of the public.
It has already been established that Football World Cup back in 2022 was hosted in Qatar because there was a serious trafficking of influences made by the government of Qatar to get as many votes in favor within the administration of the FIFA to host the event in their country.
As a result of that scandal, the chairman of the FIFA was under a lot of pressure and scrutiny, as it had already been proven by an indictment by the United States the FIFA was acting as a mafia rather than a serious and law abiding organization which sought to expand the love for football around the world.
Thanks to Qatar, there were a lot of FIFA directives which actually got rich in a matter of months, because of direct and indirect bribery.
The United States wanted to host the 2022 World Cup back then, they the executives of the FIFA did not actually pay attention to their bid for being the host of the event, because all of them had already been bought with Qatar money.
