Do gamblers become careless after a big win?

I notice this many times, sometimes losing is not really the only problem in gambling. Winning can also be a problem if we don’t know how to control it.

When a gambler wins big, the feeling is different. You feel confident, you feel lucky, and sometimes you start thinking that maybe you can win more if you continue. That is where the mistake usually starts. Instead of taking the profit, some gamblers increase the bet and play longer. Then after some time, the profit is gone, and worse, they even lose their own money too.

So maybe the hard part in gambling is not only accepting losses, but also controlling yourself when you are already winning.

Winning is very good for everyone and when someone wins big then he cannot control himself from excitement. And at that time he forgets what he should do. Because sometimes what we always think about when we win is whether our luck will continue to last or not so we will continue to try even though we fail several times which makes us lose the winnings we get.  But if our self-control is strong enough then maybe things like this can be minimized so I guess it depends on the level of self-control of each gambler.

It is difficult if our self-control is weak because our gambling results win or lose the results will be the same when we cannot control ourselves properly then we can be sure we will only lose everything we have because of poor self-control.

One really don't understand why it's always like that in gambling, after longing for wins you never had for a long period of time and you just let it goes when it comes, is this emotions or greed because as a gambler with wins all you have to do is go invest properly with your wins but no .

One needs to know when to stop if the needs arises and not chasing your losses and wins that you will never get back.

Well, it’s very possible to feel that you still have some luck and if you just keep playing you’ll win even more, that’s very common with so many gamblers, myself included. I have gambled, won, and at the end of the day logged out of my account without a single penny from it, simply because I lost everything back to the platform.

When some gamblers are lucky to win, it normally makes them feel that winning is easy and that they can win by playing again. It also makes some gamblers have so much confidence in gambling that they gamble with the amount they can't afford to lose because they feel that, at the end of the game, they will still win. Yup, I agree. It often happens to new gamblers I guess when they have already doubled their bankroll, they keep playing because they think they can turn it into 10 times more instead of stopping and taking their profits. Greed is always there and our guard tends to drop when we're either on a winning streak or a losing streak, making us more careless about the consequences of continuing to play. When we make a profit from gambling, it's always a good idea to withdraw at least some of it wo we can avoid getting rek both our profit and our bankroll at the same time.
