My question is that, Do you guys think gamblers can learn risk management without them experiencing a loss or personal experience is the best teacher when it comes to gambling?

There are exceptions, but it's rare. Gambling is an emotional game; even if you follow logic, there will be a point at which you will forget all the logic and knowledge on what to avoid.
I have seen some people giving good advice about gambling on how not to get addicted, but they themselves cannot control their emotions when they are playing.
Losses and experience teach us to be better gamblers, but we should avoid losing a lot of money before learning to control ourselves.

Yes, I agree with what you say, the game is pure luck, we can't expect anything more from it. You will be afraid to take risks when you are not used to it. Those who gamble regularly take big risks regularly which gradually normalizes the risk factor in them. And even in the midst of big losses, they do not stop gambling and continue to take bigger risks. One of the reasons for this is that they try to fool the gambling platforms and think that by avoiding the reasons for which they lost and adopting new strategies, they will have big wins which will easily recover their previous losses. It will be delusional for someone to say they have confidence that they will win in gambling because in reality winning in gambling is not about having confidence but rather it is about opportunity and luck. However, sometimes some people never learn from their mistakes, instead stubbornly clinging to their own hopes and beliefs, ultimately becoming trapped in a vicious cycle of addiction. Yes, our judgement most of the time are clouded and we can't think properly when we are in the situation. We will hear those philosophy about gambling and it's on our brain. But when we are inside gambling, we forget all about that advises.

And it's really hard to control our emotions because we want to recover our losses. Or if we are winning, we wanted more. Those are the two scenarios that we can't control until such time that we don't have any money to play or deposit and that is the only time we will stop.

The reason I have stopped sharing my experience with others or advising them is because of my experience of how people takes unsolicited advice from me, infact is better to allow them to learn from they own experience that way they can tell where they went wrong.


Most of the gambling warnings that have been given unsolicited have hard low or no effect on those who received such advises and that is why you see those that are warned to avoid certain actions while gambling still end up getting addicted or in debt which is the negative experience that we have always warned about.

That is absolutely true the problem with many Gamblers is about implementation and application of the knowledge that they have been able to gather. Risk in gambling is one fact that is known but only few people try to make it work by playing safe and not taking too much risk. But to the greater percentage of the gambling community they find it difficult to apply their knowledge because, the problem is about applying knowledge and is not even about ignoring risks.

Well gamblers ignoring risk until it happens that they lose big is a common problem with Gamblers. I have witnessed this before and I will tell you that sometimes this habit exhibited by gamblers is not intentional but as a result of being carried away by the spirit of gambling. There is always that desire to win huge when gambling, and the results or testimonies of others will motivate you to keep Gambling. You keep doing this repeatedly even when you are losing till you see reason to quit when it's already too late. This is the problem Gamblers face and majority of them fall under this category.
